Last saturday army breakfast one sausage one bacon one fried bread beans tomatoes .Traditional accompanied by pint tea many sugars .But our cook house

When I was younger I used to love the greasy-spoon (or Little Chef) style fried bread. Tried it again recently and it is just utterly disgusting
A bit of homemade fried bread which is not utterly saturated in cheap oil would be a Good Thing though, I think.
And I won't even hear of eggy bread/French toast being mentioned in the same breath as fried bread. Eggy bread is the king of breakfast foods (sprinkled with sugar, or with maple syrup and bacon...mmmmh)
Used to work in a hotel where it was on tap in the mornings, had to really stop myself munching on it eventually. I used to dip it in the beans...lush.
Never been much of a fan of fried bread myself, but am very glad that reading this thread has reminded me of the matchlessly delicious eating experience that is eggy bread - I like mine with cinnamon sugar, mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
