When there is no food in the fridge

went to the fridge 3 times knowing it was empty save some manky brocoli, butter, parmesan and milk.

sounds ideal, you could have had broccoli with cheese sauce :) though this...

grilled goats cheese on toasted brushetta with rocket salad and drizzled with freshly made mango coulis (made using fresh mango, 1/2 teaspoon of warm honey and a splash of white wine and thrown in the blender)

...would be a massive improvement...

...damn you, you're making me hungry :D

I keep mainly eggs, fish sticks & Pepsi Max in my fridge.

boohoo was strangely unimpressed.....
You don't need to keep eggs in the fridge, but I guess it would look even emptier if you took them out :p

It's my fridge and I'll keep whatever I want in it!!!

You'll be telling me I shouldn't keep Y-fronts in the freezer next!!!

off topic, but I often used to put my keys and phone in the fridge when I came home drunk... keeping them safe, y'know...:D

Yes... revive the cheese night

Aww man...suburban does it again, and makes me all hungry. But cheese night? How lush does that sound? I would bring some smoked applewood cheddar. Yum.

I'm having cous cous tonight with chicken and prawns and stuff. Be rude of me not to add some grilled halloumi, eh? ;)

Fridge? With no food in it? This has never happened to me [not since I was a student anyway]. A full fridge at all times is vital to my happiness. :)

This is one of the few things that depresses me about living alone. I tend to do a big shop once a week, and towards the end of the week, when the fridge is all empty, it's a bit sad. Full Fridge = :) and no mistake. Especially the week after pay day when it's jammed packed with extra-lovely lovlies.

Heh - the older I get the more my food obsession grows. Not only are my fridge and freezer permanently packed, but I am shopping for a new BIG freezer which I am already planning filling. I'm also turning into a bit of a feeder - anyone thats round my house is plied with grub. :)

One word: Eggs.

You know it makes sense.

Oooh no. I've got "issues" with eggs. They come out of a hen's bottom! Well, front bottom to be precise, which is even worse

Likewise with milk, I can't be doing with that either, coming out of a cow's nipple, and it's for baby cows, not humans.

Mind you, I have no issues once it's churned into delicious cheese or chocolate, or for that matter eating the delicious rump of a cow! :D

and you are hungry...do you still find yourself returning to it?

Oh god, all the time.......... it's very frustrating!

Do you go through the cupboards as well, over and over again? Even though you KNOW PERFECTLY WELL that they ARE empty??

This was me last night.......... Guess who needs to go shopping?! And guess who can't be bothered and will therefore be making the fridge trek several times over again tonight................. :D :D :D

Aww yes. If im not making tunes then THAT ^^ is my ideal relaxing evening. We must of been chums in a previous life. :D I could make you this grilled goats cheese on toasted brushetta with rocket salad and drizzled with freshly made mango coulis (made using fresh mango, 1/2 teaspoon of warm honey and a splash of white wine and thrown in the blender)

Its gives me a semi !:D

That goats cheese thingy is giving me a semi and all :D

yum!

Yeah, maybe we were chums in a past life, drinking G&T and eating cheese together. Maybe you were Santa in some period of time and I was your snow covered cat! :p

Just in just done it...pub instead of shop.....it is going to have to be a very creative night with the odds and sods we have in:)

My fridge is almost always empty... it has milk, marg, loads of cheese and some yogurts in it at the moment, but not a lot else.

Trouble is, with my husband being out three evenings out of five, I never bother to get food in for those evenings.. then I sit here thinking "I need food!" and end up getting a chinese

ha ha ha what did you end up with?? i had a wrap from the tesco petrol station that I had to go to for petrol but too tired to go in shop & do shopping......... tonight is a birthday party (OK for a 6 year old but food is provided so Im going, OK? ;)) tomorrow is very busy hopefully ending up at Euston so may be able to eat then, tomorrow night is probably an all nighter so too tired to shop Monday night....... either a quick whiz at the work tesco on monday lunchtime or starvation til tuesday then......... unless my sister (mother of the 6 year old who has a party) takes pity & sends me home with food........ wouldn't be the first time! :D

My fridge is never, ever empty.... I could feed eight people at the drop of a hat pretty much all the time!
