When old foods make a comeback in the shops

I am mostly chuffed that SuperMousse is back.

I bought some though and it said you should leave a SuperMousse for 30 mins before eating after taking it out of the freezer. I can never remember waiting that long as a kid!

where? not in sainsburys or iceland round my way.

I thawed it once and it was kind of useless and took about five seconds to eat.

Banana?

BANANA?!

Why, you Godless heathen, there is only ONE Angel Delight flavour that merits consideration when discussing the merits of milk-and-powder based light and fluffy desserts and it is, of course, the mighty teatime titan that is BUTTERSCOTCH!

BUTTERSCOTCH, I SAY!

Butterscotch beats Banana easy.

Butterscotch is soooo good it gets downed before the setting time is officially up.....the king of instant puds.

Arctic Roll has never completely gone away. I think it was affected by Global Warning though and the melting of the ice caps. You just have to go further to get any now.

Angel Delight is something I never had though. I remember seeing the adverts for it but not being made curious about it so not wanting it. I didn't know that it came in different flavours but imagined it all came in a unique Angel Delight flavour. It goes without saying that Banana would be superior to any other flavour. Dammit I have said it now.

I remember eating cubes of jelly years ago. It is quite satisfyingly chewy. Perhaps the story about it giving you stronger nails stems from the fact that it is made from the hooves and skin of cattle. Gelatine is not for vegetarians - I wonder how many of them have been happily eating fruit flavoured jellies without realising that they are eating animal.

I had some Raspberry Ripple ice cream when I visited my mother in the summer. That is another flavour from the past for me.

I hope that we can slow down the melting of the ice caps so that future generations can have Arctic Roll.

I know that Iceland doesn't only sell frozen food because I went in one out of curiosity a few years ago. I think when they first started out their market was bulk supplying of food for people with freezers. Perhaps they have changed their range, or I didn't know because I have never owned a freezer apart from the little one in my fridge. That reminds me there is a bag of frozen peas in there that is probably 3 years beyond its use by date.

I hate artic roll. It's rubbish.
Jelly is disgusting and eating jeally cubes is also, maybe even a little bit more, disgusting.

Whenever I see neapolitan ice cream or a battenberg cake I think of days gone by. I thought they were the pinnacle of good taste and refinement.
