Up the bum - no babies!!!
No thanks - I'm going to go and run the taps in the bathroom for a while now
....can't wait!
....can't wait!

"Indoor signal boosting aerials" are almost certainly going to be more trouble than they're worth - unless the amplifying stage is very good, all they really achieve is to add noise to the signal, and amplify any interference the aerial may have picked up, too.trashpony said:Right - that's it - I'm cutting down all the trees in my garden![]()

Or perhaps I should just buy an indoor signal boosting aerial instead. I can't really do anything about the one on the roof because of the madman who lives in the attic who can't be disturbed.

trashpony said:Oh well, that's good news I suppose. I wonder what chio was going on about ...![]()
What transmitter is it pointing to right now then?trashpony said:So I've had a look on that site (fankusheo v much) and it says I need to turn my aerial south east to catch the rays from the Crystal Palace transmitter.
(I take it you are in London)If you own the flat, you should have a right to access-not sure how you stand if you rent though. As I have the madman upstairs, I can't be fiddling with the aerial.
Would an indoor digital aerial work or would that just be a total bleeding waste of moolah?
As well as weather interference - and living in Manchester it's more likely to rain than not - every time a motorbike goes down the road past my flat, I get interference. How crap is that? Every time a motorbike goes past my flat, I can't watch telly.kingmaker said:...I don't like your chances somehow- tall buildings and lots of trucks and buses interfering-not good.

AnnO'Neemus said:II'm pissed off with Freeview. It's crap. Yeah, it's good to get More4 and E4, but when the weather's bad, you get a really crap signal or none at all. At least with terrestrial/analogue, if the weather was bad, at worst it was a bit fuzzy/snowy, but you could still see/hear it. Freeview is shit.
Utopia said:Slightly off topic but did you know Film fours gonna be on Freeview from July onwards!! Woohoo!![]()

Pisses me off too. The problem is with analogue transmission there are relays all over the place. With Freeview transmission, only the main transmitters and *very few* relays carry the signal. My nearest Freeview transmitter is about 12 miles away. But there's a HILL in the way of that so I get my signal off the transmitter for Edinburgh ... over 20 miles away! And it's shit even after running through a boostertrashpony said:What's the fucking point of the digital revolution if you have to buy a huge aerial? And for various reasons, I can't fix the rooftop aerial so could the lead/box be at fault? If I twiddle the aerial lead in the socket, the picture improves and it went wrong very suddenly - it's been fine for years and all of a sudden it doesn't work any more.
If it's not likely to be either of those things, is there any way I can attach an aerial on the side of the house, rather than the roof?
Or am I just going to have to get cable?
This whole digital revolution is well-fucked. I live in Kilburn ffs!![]()

I'm sure they would be pleased to help.![]()

trashpony said:Okay, I've bought an indoor aerial and it's still shit. Actually it's worse. And now I've gone back to the external aerial and I have no terrestrial channels at all!![]()

sheothebudworths said:Oh Dear!
Out of interest - because it happened here - if you plug the indoor aerial directly into the telly does it make any difference?
<clings loosely to a vague hope>
trashpony said:But I won't be able to see freeview if I do that will I?![]()
I do get terrestrial but analogue only - I retuned the freeview box and now I've only got channel 5 on digital

) but no sound and it was just the scart plug not jammed in hard enough - afaik it's usual to be without those channels, but to only get c5 is not.....so worth a fiddle.
