Does buying back the cds you gave to a charity shop years ago count?

At least 20 years back and it was Global underground (live in oslo) by Paul Oakenfold.

Well. Several this year but they were all original released between 1999 and 2001.

Trying to hard to think when the last actual was and it may have been 2009.

With all the stuff very capable club djs and bedroom djs offer of mixcloud and the like these days there just seems very little point to do mix cds. Then there’s podcasts and essential mixes as well.

I guess having grown up around vinyl, and then going on to dj and own my own collection or records, I like the feeling of having something physical that I own

The Daphni fabriclive mix a few months back.

... though I didn't order the cd I just paid for the download.

Totally get you, and it’s why I had to buy those cds again in physical form. Mainly because the artwork and dj notes in the sleeves were something I wanted to read again when listening to the digital versions.

I don’t even have a CD player in the house, only the car. Well I guess the PlayStation would play a cd if I bunged one in it.

Now I go clubbing 3 times a year tops and probably actually enjoy just listening to the 2 hour mixes the djs put out on mixcloud etc more than actually going to clubs so the nostalgic feel of remembering where I first heard the tunes also isn’t there. Getting old innit.

If we're talking CDs actually bought, then I think technically, never - though if you are including cassettes, I can nudge a bit further back than sealion to 1995:

Various - Hardstep Drum & Bass (Volume One...)

    Mine was...
    Special Request- Fabric live
I do buy DJ Kicks series quite regularly as downloads, because you get the continuous mix & all the tracks individually, whereas fabric tend to just include the mix.

Fairly sure it was the Agoria fabriclive mix in 2011. That was the first for many years tho.

It does seem like a bit of a redundant medium now that we have Mixcloud, Soundcloud etc?

There used to be racks and racks of these things for sale and tape packs from raves as well...

Omar-S - Detroit / Fabric 45 - it's a mix, but it's all his own music (2009). The last one I bought that was a diverse mix I think was Four Tet's Late Night Tales back in 2004.

The last one I bothered listening to was also a Late Night Tales, by Badbadnotgood last year.

Don't have a CD player so can't listen to CDs even if I wanted to. Last one I bought was probably about 10 years ago..

Daniel Bell - The Button Down Mind Of Daniel Bell

    It's amazing.

edit: And due to the wonders of digital piracy, you can listen to it in its entirety here:

did you never make tapes when you were younger, tapes made up out of favourite tunes?

well take this concept, use the dance music genre and then try and mix/ segue the tracks together, so like a tape of tracks without any pauses or breaks between them.
