When did old rave and hardcore become 'old school'

Two rooms - A good one with loads of people in it jumping up and down like nutters and a 'jungle' one with boring fecks moping about looking cool. :D

Reinforced around 1992 = nookie :)
around 93/94 they took out all the good bits and just left behind the drums :(

I think the cutoff was when Suburban base, Moving shadow and Reinforced went all boring and jungle.

you can have boring. you can have jungle. but you can never have both together.

get a grip of yerself man

okokok

This is the last one. the ultimate old school tunage :D Just gets better and better thoughout.

MYSTERY MAN - DJ BUSINESS

yeh bosky, that johnny track could fuck with people's heads i remember that :D

my kids know an surprising amount of rave music considering neither of them are ravers. and they call my 80s reggae 'mum's old people music' :( :D

lol just the mention of old school brings all the old ravers out of the woodwork posting up links and grinning like twats.

I know that people have their on views of times past and their own experience of times present...but my life...at that time ...was like a SL2 vid...it was fkkn ace...hectic and grinny.:D

I was larfing about this the other day on me b'day with a mate from the same time...we used to get people thanking us for an entertaining night...keeping people dancing...now we get asked to leave:hmm:...if our backs don't give in first!:D

we used to know this ratpack lot for a while. this is when it started coming out of the warehouses and into the legit places i think - dunno though cos it says 92. maybe both were still going on.

boy were we fit in those days, we may have been druggies but dancing for 8 hours - who needed the gym? :D

anyway, enough indulgence! my last one, i loved this song so much :) (although it goes a bit annoying half way through, imo)

better stop this and clean the kitchen like i was supposed to over an hour ago..

nice one for the links people
few memories there.

so i guess the answer is somewhere around the mid 90s anything from 91-93 got called 'old skool'

my ole dj mate says 92/3 for old skool too - this says 94 but i'd definitely call that drum beat old skool/hardcore

but then, we all know how great i am at this....

i think its when the genre/sound itself moves on.... that hardcore rave sound was only around a couple of years and then it evolved and split into either the faster 4/4 happy hardcore or the darker 93 stuff and early jungletechno drum and bass... not really any 1992 sounding piano hoover rave type toons being made in say 1995, things had completely moved on

Le Voie Le Soleil is by Subliminal cuts
