Precisely

I was just looking at the 'How much do you spend on Xmas dinner?' and I was all  Spend? Me? My mum makes it appear every year

going to my mums for the first time in years although it hasnt been my home in a long long time

am absolutely dreading it, taking the last available train xmas eve and the first one back after boxing day

only doing it for the five year old, wholl have a fab time whilst ill spend three days trying to pretend i havent drunk as much of their cheap shit wine as i really have and trying really, really hard to ignore the constant stream of stupid fucking things that my family continuosly utter, as well as the fact that i really, really dont like them, any of them, except my nan, who wont be there

doesnt even look like i can get/afford any pot to take with me :(

the five year old owes me big time

Shoreham-by-Sea. i.e. the nice bit :D

Do you reckon you'll have to book a train ticket?

For London to Shoreham you just turn up at Victoria, Clapham or East Croydon and go, there's no seat reservations on Southern, but I can't see the trains being too busy, not too much demand to go to the coast on Christmas Eve I'd have thought

Southern trains on Xmas Eve will be fine - (dont leave it too late) - there wont be a commuter rush and it will be nice and civilized. Enjoy and chill !

I used to spend Christmas and New Year traipsing around between my parents (who are divorced) - taking stupidly packed trains up and down for inflated prices, wasting whole days travelling there and back, making sure to be in London for NYE because that's where friends are having parties.

I still do this. It's fucking hard work.
