Mainly Rolleiflex 2.8 F

Also Olympus E500

Real camera Rolleiflex that is :)

Why did you go for the E500 - was it the built in anti dust mechanism? I keep on looking at a digital SLR's and find this dust issue to be the main reason I have not purchased one. I had a D70 for a couple of days but returned it as it came "out of box" with a sensor covered in dust! At least with film this is not an issue as the sensor is renewed for each frame :)

I was looking at getting a E300 at £299. It came as a kit with a couple of lenses but now they have stopped doing the offer :hmm:

Best thing about the Rollei is I found it in a junk shop in the bazaar in Gaziantep and it was an absolute steal!

Now all I have to do is improve my photography.

Looking back, I'm not entirely sure why I went for an E500. I used to play around with an OM2 of my Mums, and I like Olympus's so thats where the brand came from. Its a perfectly good dSLR, and the dust jobby certainly works well. My only complaint with it is that the cleaning program is automaticly run when you turn it on, but it only takes a couple of seconds so its not a big issue. I ended up ordering it from the States on some special offer job, and even taking into account postage and a £50 customs charge it still worked out a good bit cheaper than buying one in the UK. Have to say I prefer the OM2, tho.

I'm surprised that the PENTAX K100D is down in the 50s/60s considering it's an SLR that's had a load a good reviews.

I guess people just head for Canon or Nikon.

my thoughts and one reson i got mine was the good press (sometimes it is good to with the hype)

Then a shit load of cannon i like the D20 do not get me wrong i fucking love it,
not been home as yet so not sure if the 400 has come in the post, today i woke and got out the old k 100d to take images of mother earth wakeing..

I have been thinking of late going another way ie scanner and good old non digital i know why not but it seems i have become a sheep, and i was always a goat and looking at the stats link has made me think further.

Paul if you are going for big images try office world and the cannon photo copys (full colour) ive had some good images this way round and you might know of http://www.peak-imaging.co.uk/ they also use a lot cannon never used them as yet (due to cost) in fact it is a good day of sunshine i might just get the old tram here in sheffield and go and have a chat see what there like face to face as it might be..

Cheers e numbers. I've heard good things about Peak Imaging again and again -- I'm lucky enough to have an OK "pro" photo lab just down the road from me so I tend to use them for big prints. Just that a few more pixels would come in handy when printing really big (hence unrequited D300 lust).

I've had my Pentax MX for 15 years. I won't be getting a dslr because the cost of autofocus lenses is like gillette razors but I will probably get a semi-dslr compact. I might get a medium or large format camera one day. I am not dazzled by camera technology, I say if you want something that flashes and beeps buy a pokemon.

I have whatever the photographic equivalent of penis envy is, I think.

We've got 2 of those at work, they dont get used nearly enough.

Probably because it takes time and concentration to shoot with and then time and money to develop/print or develop/scan. I've never used anything like this before so it's going to be a steep learning curve for me - but I'm really excited.:)

My other camera? 5D MkI

Yeah we're teaching a level too which probably doesn't help

Yes this is a zombie thread as Fridge points out.

This kind of thread with its obviously outdated poll is a good example of why people should ignore pogofish and his campaign against new versions of apparently already-dealt-with topics. As the world changes, especially products on sale being replaced with shiny new versions, so we need shiny new threads covering those topics.

I'm still using the same 20D I was four years ago :hmm:

I just bought a Pentax K30, for some reason they dropped it in price from £600 to £370 and then offered £50 cashback on top.

pentaxdsc04847.jpg

Anyway, it's water-resistant and it's got a built-in spirit level. Which does make it sound like it belongs on a building site, but bloody handy as I'm guff at level horizons and it's not exactly been a dry year.

No LCD top-screen, which is a departure for Pentax and a bit of a shame, but a nice big bright screen on the back.

:D okay here goes :hmm:

nikon d40 sigma 1.4 lens
pentax k1000 (35mm film)
cameraphone (nokia lumia 800 due today)
polaroid sx-70 (square format)
polaroid land camera (peel apart)
polaroid spectra (rectangular format)
instax mini (credit card sided instant)
lomo fisheye (35mm film)
baldixette (120 film)
rolleicord (120 film)
lomo 6x12 due after xmas (panoramic 120 film)
yashica electro rangefinder (35mm film)

that may be all :)

Nice camera the k-30.

My Kx has no top LCD screen either. Not missed it.

I'm seriously thinking of getting a Nikon F5 and a fast 50mm prime. I don't know why, I think there's something wrong with me.

People seem scared of TLRs. Well, maybe not "scared", but I've known a couple of photographers who happily used in one case a Praktisix, and in the other a Bronica SQ-A, who had a hard job using my Mamiya TLRs. IMO using a WLF when you've been used to a pentaprism can be a bit wearing, though. :)
