What's your top five mixes of all time?

downloading disco not disco now... can't find a tracklisting, but lists for his other sets are impressive...

You see, I can't really say I'll ever find a perfect disco mix as for me, the definition would imply that it woudl cover all the vast bases of disco, which is pretty much impossible, but I can say with complete assurance and confidence that there will never be a set recorded ever that will beat this one :D

Each record gives me goosebumps, but when track 3 drops, any shitty day situation of feeling is instantly rectified ;)

QUOTE]

Thats a cracker of a mix - got me in to techno after hearing that. I remember walking round school with it on my head phones giving people 10 second blasts of it and not telling anyone what it was. :D

I'm partly in awe that someone else knew exactly what I was talking about!!

Top set, which I was there for. People were literally pleading at the DJ booth for him to keep playing...some truly, truly awesome tunage...and top MCing too...Stevie (RIP) was one of the few MCs to really understand how to MC over a techno set...

'Take one more ecstasy and rush with me...'

'Movement movement in the place! Girls, girls rock your waists!'

i went for lunch in the place that was Sterns with my dad the other week :D

as for mixes a lot of the ones i like have been mentioned already

there is a really good Bryan Jones Acid mix i like but i can't remember the name of it

Richie Hawtin Decks, EFX and 909 is a bit of a work of art. I'm not a minimal techno fan, but this is just done so brilliantly.
I also love Darren Emerson's Global Underground mix
And everything I've heard by Pure Science, though I'm not sure if they really count as a mix!

Judge Jules' :o mix from this album http://www.discogs.com/Various-An-Introspective-Of-House-1st-Dimension/release/158549 - it was the first dance music compilation I ever bought and his CD is packed full of cracking house music

Technohead 4 - Sound Wars The Next Generation - just utterly, utterly nails

Stu Allan and MC Connie, Kintetic NYE 95/96 - tune, after tune, after tune, after tune

Tuff Jam - Underground Frequencies Vol. 1 - the best proper speed garage/early UKG mix ever http://www.discogs.com/Tuff-Jam-Underground-Frequencies-Volume-1/release/483231

DJ Disowned's closing set from the big fuckoff leaving party I had in August (after a 7 year stint in Sheffield) - proper fresh, innovative UK Hardcore from one of the best DJs I've ever heard - download here http://web.mac.com/distortedpanda/TINNITUS/MIXES/Entries/2009/8/14_DJ_Disowned_.html

ooh, and check out greg wilson live at the dolphin - epic!
I got 3 excellent GW Dolphin mixes off here a few months ago. The 1st one (mellow; starts with La Vie en Rose) was my family's sound of this summer. Played it one afternoon on holiday and ended up with half a French campsite requesting it the next day. Mrs FA slightly less impressed as Lil'FA shouted for "the cocaine one daddy" :o:facepalm:

:D
