whats your pet called?

Our cat is called Florence which we thought was a good name and fairly distinctive so that when we call her at the back door she will come. Florence is also called Ken but not to her face but thats a long story stretching back through time.

Other cat names I have known are Molly, Polly (2 sisters), Peter, Cheryl and Jenny. I think 'proper' names are better as you dont feel so silly calling them or introducing your cat to other people.

our cat Florence is about to have kittens so we are going through the same process of thinking of a name for the one that we want to keep. One that we (slightly pretenciously) are thinking of is Minet which is an informal French term for cat -like pussy-, 'the Minet estate' is also the name of the four or five roads around Myatts Fields where we live in in Camberwell built by the Minet family in the 1870s.

Georgous George is our little spotted tabby. And Annie is our older gal. :)

They can't stand eachother but tend to get on better these days.

Chimneypot is also known as chim-chim, funny c-faced cat (she's got a white 'c' shape around her nose), pod, pie, ponk, silly flib, mogcat, chim-mog, flibby cat lump etc ad infinitum :o
:o for me too, Radar is also: Radeybum, Radeyflumps, Radeysplots, Splodgkins, Mr Ticklywickers, and Gerroffmyfeetyoumadbastard. Sonic is also: Sonniboo, Sonniwonni, Bosseyes, and Horseyface :o :o

My dog is a rescue dog and she was called Pippa when we got her.

Thinking how much of a knob I would sound shouting out "Pippa! Pippa!" to get her back she was renamed as Leela after the female pilot in Futuramama.

But you cannot in all good conscience name a cat before it comes to live with you

very true - i collected my new kitten last night and I'm waiting for her to name herself.

And as soon as she comes out from behind the sofa I'll get pics to post up - she is very cute.
