oh i dont know about that, my friend called her oedipuss
I had a cat called oedipuss. He was born with no eyes and his mother tried to kill him :( He was an ace chap - big, grey fluffy cat who used to jump up on the sofa and navigate stuff very expertly for a cat with no eyes

Dog is called Caspar (he came with that name - I wouldn't call a dog caspar ffs)

Cats are:

Reenee (had a sister called Queenie but she disappeared :( )

Rufus (husband called him that  ) I call him Rufus Roughstuff or Doofus

Bruin - my gorgeous black cat

Tommy Tavinsky Tittermouse III - a girl cat that the boys named

I used to have a huge black and white cat called Colin - full name Colin Allcats - but he got run over a couple of years ago :(

Collie x is Lelo, which is short for Elisabeth Charlotte in German, Jack Russel is Posie, cats are Konjo (which is japanese but can't remember what it means), James and Flash.

Deceased pets are Marley and Missy (dogs), and the cats Tigger, Hermione, Winnie, Hattie. Only Marley died of old age :(

I have 2 cats - Radar and Sonic. Radar because his humungous ears reminded me of radar dishes, and Sonic is short for Sonic Boom which is the part of his registered/show name that we got to choose - wanted to keep it on a science/technology theme. And they do indeed know what their names are and respond to them.

The parrot is called Jasper, I've always assumed that 'he' is male although I've never had 'him' DNA tested so 'he' could actually be a 'she'. Although if female would still be called Jasper because it would be highly confusing to change it after 5 years.

Our cat was called 'Isabella' by her previous owners but we rechristened her 'Donut'.

However it never really stuck (we called her Donut when we thought she was a boy) so I just call her Kitten (typical greeting = "'ello kitten" in the style of Marsha from Spaced). Or sometimes Dodo, which does suit her.

My childhood cat was called Horvendile (usually meeting the response 'Horvenwhat?') - named about Death's assistant in the books of James Branch Cabell. My dad, not a cat fan, let my mum have one when offered, as long as it was ginger or black (Horvie was black), as the character in the book is dressed in black but has bright ginger hair.

Always loved black cats. My current is black and white, and in future I may get another B&W as I hear that, for some reason, they don't tend to get homed as quickly as other colours.

Pogue (RIP) named after the band.
Meg to accompany Mog (now AWOL)

Meg is also known as Smegy, Smeghead, Bugalugs.
Sachin and his sister Flinty are due to be shipped by moi up North in the next month or so when they will be wee little 8 weeks kittens. Sachin named after the cricketer of the same name and Flinty being a mixture from Rachael HeyHoe Flint and Mr Flintoff :D

When we adopted our cat from Battersea, she was given the name Moofie. I was toying with renaming her Tammi or Lolly, then decided on Chloe... A pretty name for a pretty cat!

Cat called Buttons

If I got another cat I'd call it Pickles
or Pudding
or Marmalade (if it was ginger)

If i had a dog I'd call it "Rubbish"!

Chimneypot is also known as chim-chim, funny c-faced cat (she's got a white 'c' shape around her nose), pod, pie, ponk, silly flib, mogcat, chim-mog, flibby cat lump etc ad infinitum :o

One cat called Kali - named after the Hindu Goddess Of Destruction. It's apt. She annihialates everything from sofas to small children.

Another cat called Frank named after 1. Frank Black out of The Pixies and 2. the rabbit out of Donnie Darko.

Another one called Gato (not sure why he's called this - possibly named after Gato Barbieri as we inherited him from a jazz geezer).

Last of all, we've been feeding a stray who looked like he was on death's door when he turned up. He's been christened Starvin' Marvin after the Ethiopian off South Park. He ain't starvin any more though - he's gone from emaciated to rather portly in a matter of weeks. :)

Phoebe, otherwise known as Fibbity, named after the daughters favourite character from Charmed is my little cutie tortoishell puddy. Buck, otherwise known as Fuck, Buckethead or Chuggit is named after a friend who was honoured at the time but now probably regrets it given the big moggies nicknames:D

hehe :D My Malcolm also goes by Dorkus, Dorkotron, Donnie Dorko...Beaker gets called Bea, Schmee, Beaschmee, Schmeederbee...you get the idea.

My old cat was called Officer Dibble. Because he was the only character on Top Cat who wasn't a cat.

...doubtless some pedant is going to prove me wrong there, but fuck 'em.
