Whats your Nearest Non-League Team

Used to be Marlow but I wouldn't have gone to watch them because they are cunts :D Don't know which my current nearest non-league team is though ! Probably East Dulwhich like donna !

Ware the mighty the mighty, MARINE AFC,

on course for promotion to the conference north.

We once got to the third round of the f.a cup, and in the 4th round draw due to the game being called of, eddie murry, is on the all time 100 greatest fa cup goals for that season.

Longest serving manager of all time 21 years. :)

Cheers Donna Ferentes, you've encouraged me to seek out a local non-league side. Looks like there's a few to choose from round my way:

Ryman Premier - Bromley Town
Ryman Div One - Cray Wanderers, Croydon Athletic, Dulwich Hamlet

Might have a look at Bromley one Saturday.

do not go to dulwich hamlet, ended up falling asleep there on the centre circle after a offliner. its just a big piss up no one watches the game. you just drink and take drugs.

Either Croydon or Croydon Athletic whichever is nearer..

The fat player for Whyteleafe may have been one of the Garland's...Mark or Peter. They`re both non-league (and league) stalwarts...playing for Crawley, Croydon and Whyetleafe among others. Peter was once compared to a Combine Harvester in the national press while playing for Leyton Orient!!

I used to play for Sutton United many moons ago...

No unfortunately not against Coventry. I played a few years later...

I googled too....sounds as if we`ve identified our man!

I forgot he used to play for Dulwich too.

He started as a youth team player for Spurs and after one full appearance was transfered to Newcastle for £50k (i think?). Not long after that ended up at Leyton Orient. I lost track after that but saw his name mentioned in various local newspapers and online playing non-league football. Non-League football is full of these types of stories. Peter Garland really was a very good player at youth level and was widely tipped for the very top having played for England. What cruel games fortuna plays eh?

Cray Wanderers & Bromley both share Bromley's Hates Lane ground.

Nearest well-known non league side to where I am from (Clapton) is probably Dagenham and Redbridge, but I think Clapton have a team too, although god knows in what league...

Bognor Regis Town FC (The Rocks) :)

I have a feeling that another side that a couple of my friends play in (Farleigh Rovers) have an annual pre-season friendly against Bognor.

I did actually attend this year but was so pissed I cant actually remember anything of the game or where it was!

Burton Albion are my nearest non-league club of any signifcance I think.

Bring on the reds!:D

Edit: I notice Flashman mentioned a club called "mickleover sports FC" I guess they would be nearer to me, although I've never heard of them

You mean Hayes Lane!

They are my nearest team too, I must live near London Calling and STFC Loyal. I believe that Bromley are in the same league as AFC Wimbledon as they played ech other recently.

Had an excellent pre-season friiendly trip to see the Dons play The Rocks. Lovely ground, a nice touch is the crowns on top of the freshly painted flag poles next to the main stand, showing Bognor's "royal" connection. Noon kick off, lovely summer day, 2-0 win. Then spent the afternoon drinking in the Young's pub by the beach (The Waverly..??) & paddling in the sea.. :)

Indeed, and there was an unfortunate fracas last season at Hayes Lane involving local oiks and AFCW supporters, which Andy the Don would be entitled to be unimpressed with.

Dulwuch hamlet - if you can include them as non league.

The late great Edgar kail played for them - last amateur to play for England I think
That's a blast from the past, played dulwich hamlets like, 15 years ago in the 2rd qualifying road of the FA vase and lost 9-0 and have never run as far in short space of time in my life. Ian Wrights old team innit?

My nearest is Crawley, never seen them, don't follow them, but great stadium.
