What's your most prized musical possession and why?

Probably my Spanish guitar, even though I hardly ever play it anymore. My dad bought it for me when I was 12 - I came home from school and found it lying on my bed :) It's a lovely instrument; the action is a little high but I quite like that, makes me feel like I'm working for it :D

I wish I would start playing properly again, I used to be quite good.

A signed copy of the Velvet Underground & Nico album=most valuable
Cherished memories of outstanding gigs=most prized

I've got a 1991 version of Massive Attack 'Blue Lines on vinyl without the word 'Attack' on it so it just says Massive

Um, an original Dark Side Of The Moon vinyl with Pink Floyd stickers enclosed (they're pretty crap actually)

A towel, signed by Missy Eliot with a spray can - rubbish.

A limited edition numbered Underworld pendant

A first pressing (on blue vinyl) of Kylie vs New Order ' Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head'

A Muse Black Box - given out by Warners as promo containing all their albums and DVDs.

Um...thats it I think. A few original Stiff 7inches, old seventies promos, punk tunes etc etc - I haven't got the room for mass collecting really.

I did have one of Rat Scabies' drumsticks once (from the mid 80s) but I haven't a clue where it is now.

Likewise. I'm in love with my Tele.

i'm jealous - not of the tele but of being attached to your instruments. mine of various types seem to end up broken, knackered, sold or given away (in a couple of cases) so i don't generally get too emotional about it all :)

anyway it's hard to get too attached to drums. you spend most of the time hitting them anyway, which i'm told is not the done thing in most relationships...

A signed copy of Peter Andre's biography (I won it on a raffle. Honest.) :o

Probably my Ernie Ball music man bass, given to me by my granddad when I started out at 13.

I've been playing pieces of shit for years and have had loads of guitars nicked, lost or totally fucked up (the latter entirely my own fault) so to finally own a guitar that feels like we were made for each other is fantastic. Really, she just feels absolutely right! Gawd, that sounds pathetic.

Depends on the kit and the context. I gather Drum Workshop kits aren't too into it but Pearls are well up for a bit of BDSM.:)

BTW, I posted a tune in the 'Post your new tunes (z)' thread which has some of me widdling with the Tele on it. :)

Mine would be a series of compliations made for me by my best friend - all with great songs and lovely cover artwork she made. They hold very high sentimental value for me.

I've got a reasonable large record collection including a few rarities but my friend's CDs are the only ones that are truly irreplaceabe.

at the moment this

Manged to pick it up in a shop where they had had the rest of the series but they were destroyed by fire

Electric Honey version of Tigermilk by B&S on vinyl.

There were only 1000 pressed up - they were changing hands for £800 at one point.

It's a nice artifact, but more importantly it was a very thoughtful present from some friends. I cherish it because of that.

With regards the second, I have that too, and yes, they are.

Regarding the first, during the first Gulf War Massive Attack were victims of one of those censorship drives, where the Beeb decided that Massive Attack was the kind of name liable to cause offence. To whom I'm not entirely sure, but there you go. So anyway, for a short while Massive Attack did indeed market themselves under the name "Massive".

My mother gave me a complete run of the Monkees Monthly magazine! That's pretty cool and rare and valuable.

After that, who can say. The 'Mistakes & Regrets' cd that Conrad from Trail Of Dead signed for me is pretty sweet, being as they're my favourite band, the guy's a fucking genius, and whatnot.

my better half has loads of old TOTP scripts (her use to do the lighting) signed by all the performers of that weak...so she's got Madonna, Kylie, Mel and Kim :D, De La Soul, The Smiths etc.
