Some one told me there aren't any roads in london, just lanes, streets and whatnot.

Will have a decent think about it and come up with a sensible answer shortly...probably somewhere in town that has my favourite mix of clothes shops, pub, eating out spot etc.
Am v fond of the road I live on, for obvious reasons.

I'd say the start of gentrification of Upper Clapton Road would be a KFC
