One on one? You're crazy.
only homemade though. I've gone right off bought soup, and if that makes me a snob I care not a fig.

Recipe please - I'm skint, the cupboard is bare apart from some 'continental' lentils

Do you put a bit of Brandy in? It makes all the difference imo.

I feel your pain (but not for a while, touch wood), come round here for chicken and chorizo stew.
Nope I haven't tried that before, my recipe just calls for loads of wine or cider. It is very nommy.
I'd try it with brandy, but that would involve buying some![]()

Calvados is even better
Miss fran has the best recipe ever. It's long winded because you have to roast bones to make your own brown stock, but it's worth it.
Link? I have the time and the means to be making stock
I think I may put some massala in the lentil soup to liven it up - that would work out ok wouldn't it?

...)

When does lentil soup become dhal?
Yes, I thought so. Oh well, my soup is now dhal. Not a great tragedy. When you can eat it with a fork.

French Onion. With a big crouton with melted gruyere floating on it.
mmmmmmmm.
I am going to go and make some right now.
