What's your favourite shop?

there's a couple.
algerian coffee shop by soho.
that cafe by great marlborough st, they've got free wi-fi and serve huge bowls of latte.
muji
amazon

Maumoniat International Supermarket in Brudenell Grove in Leeds. As it says on their carrier bags "A Fairyland of Food"!

You have to be joking? It's cheap and there's the occasional good thing hidden among all the tat, but that place is hell on earth.:D

One woman's tat is another's treasure! I went there on Xmas eve early, i thought it was OK.

I don't find it's worse than Peckham where I normally go  (explains a lot hehe:D)

Getting to Primark as early as you can is deffo the only way to do it.

All this talk of Morley's is making me think I deserve some new Benefit slap, something from the kitchen dept and a zip from the haberdashery dept.

I DO need the zip though...and the BF has just paid me his rent :D

I love ethnicy type shops like Shared Earth, and there's an astrology shop in covent garden that is quite cool.

I've yet to find a clothes shop that I 100% 'like'. There are so many clothes shops that used to be good, but are now rubbish. When I was younger, I used to get loads of nice, good quality clothes from River Island. In fact, i still have (and wear) one top I bought when I was 17 - nearly 14 years ago!!

The market in Hocustown. And any bookshop in any town.

Edited:
Not that I buy clothes in the market but I only noticed this was 'threads and dreads' after I clicked 'reply'. I use 'new posts' for browsing on here.

Not the John Lewis in Oxford Street surely? I always find their haberdashery/fabric section distinctly underwhelming. The new-ish restaurant on the top floor is aces though!

No, Cheadle, near Manchester. Just the smell of it is so soothing.
But then any wool shop has that effect on me :D

I love the smell of wool as well (even though I can't knit!) My mum used to take me into a wool shop when I was little and I loved it, spent ages looking at all the buttons and stuff.

I'm not very keen on shopping but if I do have to... another Morley's fan... it's got lots of goodies and choice but it's small and usually not too crowded.

I love love love love love the John Lewis Food Hall as they were the first place I looked for Veggie Haggis and they had it! :D:D:D beats last year when I scoured the supermarkets for 3 months til I was sucessful.

I also like Debenhams for clothes, Mikey for jewellery, Topshop for accessories, Boots and Bodyshop for smellies and anywhere that sells books :)

I have a guilty passion for Liberty's, not that I ever buy anything from there except knitting wool and the odd small gift.

Clothes-wise I'm not a big fan of anywhere at the moment. New Look used to be good but have gone well off lately.

I have thought long and hard about this (;) ), and I think it's probably John Lewis, followed by M&S. :o

Does this mean I'm officially middle-aged?

I think it means you're officially me ;)

I've been developing an unhealthy John Lewis obsession since I've been working next door, and it's going to be a terrible wrench to be separated when I move jobs :(

Waterstones and HMV. That's it.

I hate shopping with an overwhelming passion.

I SO need clothes I went to Oxford St with £500 on saturday - one BHS pair of trousers, two vest and five pairs of pants. Took me six hours and I wanted to cry by the time I got home. Hate it.

MFC, the Turkish shop on Streatham Hill.

love this shop. they sell proper thai coconut milk. excellent selection of asian produces. excellent turkish breads and Polish beer.

and a better variety of fruit, veg and herbs than sainsburys next door.

that place is amazing actually. I make a point of going there instead of the bloody Sainsburys - I got worried for it when that opened next door :(

No wonder you hate it if you went to Oxford St! That place is hell.

The seventh level of hell, I agree, but where else is there for lots of clothes shops? I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than do Bluewater or Lakeside *shudders at very thought*

Bookshops. sadly, that means Waterstones these days :(

There's a great kitchen shop in brum that i don't go in unless i need something specific because i WILL impulse buy.

TK Maxx, urban outfitters (only when there's a sale on!), m&s. i love clarks shoes. i dunno if that makes me sad or what but the last two pairs i've bought have been from there and i very nearly bought some boots last week too.

also there's a fab shoe shop called sims in brum too, great for a browse and occasional purchase.

I like this restaurant too. Every time I've been there it's been really chilled out. It's just so spacious and peaceful. Possibly it's not if you go bang on lunchtime though.

I like a shop called Bread & Honey on Whitecross Street - website here: http://www.backin10minutes.com/about-us/

Not the cheapest, but really cool stuff - slightly different and quirky, not trying too hard - and it's run by nice guys who've taken a punt on setting up a shop in a slightly risky place. Seem to have done OK though. I tend keep an eye on things and wait to buy during sales, when they have some good offers on.

I think know that shop, is it just off Old Street? I bought a top from there last year :)

eta. I don't have favourite shops but I do get quite excited when I go into a TKMaxx because although there's plenty of rubbish, there's also some unexpected treasure. My lastest find being a patent leather trench coat, just what I need for my trip to Berlin.

Peter Jones - ok, so it's a John Lewis store but it's a lovely building - far better than any JL shop - and its beautifully situated.

For clothes, I guess it's Zara and Urban Outfitters - where I've bought most of my stuff in recent years. I particularly like the ones on Kensington High Street, and even better they're almost next door to each other. Zara can be very hit and miss though, and I swear they keep the best shit to themselves in Spain (I always come back from Spain Zara-ed up).

And I find it just about impossible to walk past the Apple store on Regents Street if I'm in the area. Not that I've ever bought anything in there.

So you can look like a member of the SS. :D
