What's Your Favourite Girls Aloud Single?

Oh, I like that Call the Shots one!!!!

Have they done any other ones as good as that? That Promise one is rubbish!!!

i'm not too fussed about biology tbh, jump, no good advice and sound of the undereground still do it for me

just been listening to biology again... it's fucking amazing. like 3 brilliant pop songs crowbarred into one.

i can understand why you wouldn't bother doing a poll - it's pretty clear which is the winner

None at all.

They've had (a record breaking) 18 consecutive top ten hits, 5 platinum albums and 4 sold out arena scale tours purely by luck.

but thats all down to who's behind the scenes writing the songs etc,

they are just random half pretty chav girls with half decent voices. They are'nt talented and it is just luck!

NO, 'chemical needs' do not run to the hills. Stand united with me in hatred of girls aloud... You have all been brainwashed by them with their catchy pop jingles and their overly large gold hoop earrings!! No i say, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

but thats all down to who's behind the scenes writing the songs etc,

not all, but it is a large part of it. they (xenomania) work very closely with the girls and get the girls input with the song writing and production. if you read girls aloud threads on urban, people who love girls aloud acknowledge and appreciate the work done by xenomania, so i you're not really telling us anything new or taking the wind out of our sails :)

and then there is what bees has just said above me. you could have ended up with 5 different girls and it might not have gelled. javine, anyone? no thanks.

I assume anyone that doesn't like them because they are "manufactured" and "have all their songs written for them" never listens to Motown?

Ladysmith Black Mambazo?

Awful example. There are any number of similar outfits Paul Simon could have chosen to work with, but for whatever reason, he chose Mambazo, so they got the breaks and similar acts didn't. So yes, luck and marketing

Pretty humourless there, ain'cha, chief?

I thought it was a point worth making, as it goes, even if the example was deliberately frivolous - to illustrate that the luck / marketing thing goes far deeper than just 'disposable pop'.

That, and the fact that you're rarely amusing

Think you'll find I was voted "Most Funniest and Bestest Man in the Universe" by the users of this website at around about the same time you were voted "Biggest, Angriest, Most Bitterest Big Plum". Not that that bothered you in any way whatsoever, as you pointed out seventeen or so times ;)

'sfunny, cos you seemed to spend an entire two days getting worked up about at least one of them. When you weren't reassuring everyone that you weren't in any way worked up about them that was.
