What's your favorite display of sportsmanship?

Don't have a specific moment but I like the World Strongest Man events, whenever a competitor finishes before the other the winner will usually go over and egg the other person on to finish. I like that.

I'm sure if it's sportmanship as such, but this photo has always been iconic for me, as the two best ever at what they did swap shirts after a titanic battle. It perhaps personifies dividing on the pitch from off it.

For me it has to be the England football team. I cant help but admire the way they hand the game to their opponents over and over again. I love the way that these highly paid players consistently pass the ball to players on the other side who earn much less than them...They truly are national heroes.

Or the way the England team lose penalty shot outs to sportingly allow their opponents to go through to the next round.

Not my favourite (Fowler and Di Canio having already been mentioned) but one of the most recent....When Clive Clark collapsed with a cardiac arrest during the Forest v Leicester game in the League cup last season, causing the game to be abandoned, Forest were 1-0 up. Clark thankfully went on to make a full recovery (although he obviously had to retire from football). When the game was replayed, the Leicester players basically gave the ball to Forest and let them score from the kick-off to restore the score. Judging by the looks on the managers faces, the players had decided that amongst themselves. ;)

In a movie called The Ringer. It's about retarded people at something like the Special Olympics.

It's in the hundred meter. They're racing along, and one of them trips. The others stop, go back, and help him get up.

I know it's just a movie.

Has anyone mentioned Steve Davis standing up from the table and telling the ref he had touched the pink with his arm?

Hendry did something similar in one of his world championship finals against White. He was given a free ball in one of the last frames. When he got down on the shot he realised it wasn't a free ball and told the ref.

Snooker and golf are like that though.

Not really sportsmanship, but man citeh last season sending a message of support to their sacked manager... 8-1 wasn't it?

Hereford sportingly stood aside and let us score at will today. Lovely lads, Hereford :)

Yes, that is indeed Gazza doing etc etc

How is it relevent to the thread though?

It isnt but I just like it.

On the original topic I would go for (off the top of my tipsy brain) the much abused Paulo DiCanio situation when he refused to score into an empty net (v Everton?)
