sorry first thing in the morning (for me) i hadn't remembered to put on my protective layer of cynicism and humour

not actually seen the video girl ai OVA i only ever read the manga ... and to be brutally honest a lot of it is mediocre i just had got so used to the characters by the end of it I ended up feeling their pain somewhat.

i too like odd stuff but i prefer it when it is mixed in with what could be considered normal ... i mean you can construct something that is completely and utterly loopy and makes no sense but where the point in that? (apart from just having a laugh/looking cool) but when you take what seams normal then warp it to breaking point you have something special ... possibly ... i may be talking out my arse again.

a uk DUB?? i have lost all respect for you! the mixed show thing sounds intresting a bit 2am tv though

Sadly the myspace player does not work on my computer so I can only hear songs by downloading them.

Yeah it was supposed to be a late night thing. There was a lot of interest but I just couldn't get all the rights sorted out, and everyone wanted too much money for a very low budget show.

As for a UK dub, I don't think you can expect C4 to transmit a subtitled series. Anyway I think the sync point dub is one of the best (if not the best) dubs I have ever heard, proving to me that it is just shoddy dubs and non voice actors that are giving dubs a bad name.

expect and wish are two different things unfortunately.

and i fully admit there can be some reasonably dubs i just find even the best ones just don't have quite the same je ne sais quios. i am not sure if this is because the japanese voice actors are better at portraying the characters or simply because i associate the characters with Japanese voices

Has anyone watched Neon Genesis Evangelion?

For me, it's one of the best anime's out there, although near impossible to follow sometimes.

hehehe

yeah i'm something of a gainax fanboy so eva is a taken

and genrally up to episode 24 it's not tooo bad in terms of plot following

after that well you can somewhat read your own interpretation into the final two episodes and EoE (it may be diffrent to how anno or sadamoto interprets it but your free to make your own mind up)

True, loved the TV show but got dissappointed by the vague ending to it all. EoE really went to town, everybody dying, mad philosphy, loved it.

Not sure how many different conclusions to the story there needs to be though now that there's another one in the form of Rebuild Of Evangelion coming out over the next couple of years.

Having said that, still can't wait to see some new Eva!

i actually quite appreciate the tv ending. yes admittedly they had run out of cash and were doing all on a shoe string but it left an interesting story of what third impart was on a personal level that just wasn't there in EoE

again i may well be reading far too much into it but the tv ending really felt like something had changed for shinji, something inside

eoe just had that very strange dream like ending

i still need to read the manga... i got a load of the way through but kinda lost track

oh well i'm just going to have to watch Re: Death again....

haven't watched a decent anime for ages

all the kids over here like Inayuasha atm, it's alright but it's definetely a kids show

i've seen gungrave and ninja scroll in korean recently

will have to check out dead leaves

i didn't like eva at all when i saw it, maybe i should give it another go....

yep inuyasha is brain damaging after a while (takahashi needs to learn when to stop)

that's why i should have thought longer before picking this name even though it is just a joke

I thought it would be lolicon.

wot my name?

nah

fox youkai from a show... a joke on the fox ear thing ...

besides it's not like lolicon is mainstream enough to get a good joke out of it...

I see panda Z is out in the UK now.

Plus you get 15 eps per disk as opposed to 6 on the j disks.

It's kind of wierd and cute so let's go and find our future boys.

that is truly brain damaging

but does hit just about all the mecha clichés

New favorite...............Gunslinger Girl

What a friggin masterpiece. Good classical score, exceptional animation and a twisted storyline. Me love!

Here is a right treat and no mistake Kino's Journey 4 volumes, nice artwork, off-kilter stories, highly recommend

Kino is a young adventurer, who explores the world on Hermes, his talking motorcycle. Through his travels, Kino observes both the differences and similarities between people of different cultures.
