whats you ideal Full breakfast

Back bacon grilled until it's crispy and you can break the fat off and leave it. Mushrooms, those portabello ones are best or maybe big frilly field mushrooms, grilled or fried until the black juice stops coming out. A runny fried egg or two with no egg snot and no brown overcooked white bits. Can substitute poached eggs here, again runny but no egg snot. Veggie sausages if any, not meat ones. Baked beans, only a small amount - they can be left off. Brown sauce. Huge slices of doorstop toast with unsalted butter and loads of black pepper on. Hash browns, yep, could add those in. Mug of black coffee.

Or

One of those lush breakfasts you get in rural France with two huge pots of coffee and hot milk and sugar and a huge bowl/cup to drink it from. With french bread and butter and jam, proper confiture fruity jam. And maybe a croissant :)

Heh :D I'll dib in either the bacon or the veggie sausages for an extra pint of cider

Not quite the full english but.....

Veggie Heuvos Rancheros. Orange juice. Strong coffee. Absolutely f'ing gorgeous on a Sunday morning.

Glass of orange juice + tea

Veggie sausages, hash browns, baked beans, tomatoes (canned plum or fresh grilled, not too fussy), mushrooms, eggs (preferably fried, but scrambled would do).

Brown sauce (essential), grainy mustard (also preferable but optional), plus freshly ground black pepper (can live without the extra salt).

Toast, gone slightly cold, so that the butter doesn't melt too much, and it's got to be proper butter, not marg or 'spread'.

Lovely! :)

Now you've made me hungry you b@st@rd!

I really don't like cafe breakfasts cos they never cook them the way I like. Bacon's undercooked, sausages are too greasy, eggs are just weird etc. In fact they are usually far too greasy.

Anyone else feel the same?

I didn't make a fry up for dinner tonight btw, didn't have the appetite for it.....(I'll make you one next time sojourner ;) )

I definitely feel the same. A fry-up isn't the same unless you cook it yourself.

I like:
2 large organic eggs (white set, yolk fully runny),
3 slices of dry-cure bacon (cooked til the fat is crispy, but the meat is only slightly tinged on the edges),
2 sausages (not herby, just plain meaty pork sausages fried or baked),
a handful of mushrooms (chopped and fried in a little olive oil and butter),
cherry tomatoes (halved and fried, split side down),
a single medium thickness slice of black pudding,
doorstop wholemeal toast (plain, not buttered),
a pint of water and a vitamin c tablet (to ease the hangover)

When I've finished that, I like a strong cup of yorkshire tea.

If I'm feeling like being messy, then I'll do a breakfast sandwich, which is the following between two slices of thick unbuttered wholemeal bread:
1 egg fried til the white is set and the yolk is completely runny
1 slice of bacon - as the fry-up
1 sausage, fried then split into two
2 cherry tomatoes, split and fried
some sliced mushrooms - fried in olive oil and butter

I always drain off the extra oil off everything too, cos otherwise I feel a little ill after eating it all.

edit: as much as I love hash browns, I always forget to cook some for breakfast :o

Two free range eggs, some flash fried huge fuck off whole field mushrooms, cherry tomatoes fried in Olive Oil and chunks of baggette that have been lighty buttered, sprinkle the plate with coarsely ground Black pepper, A cup of hot coffee made in me Mocha pot thingy with half milk and one and half sugars and there ya go a veritable fuckin treat:p :D
Ditto, but it has to be a few hours after I have woken up, as I cant face food first thing.

A couple of poached eggs, few rashers of bacon, grilled tomatoes, some hot buttered toast, glass of juice and a large mug of coffee.

breakfast is my absolute favourite meal ever bar none, so I have about a gajillion ultimate breakfasts...

ham and eggs, with hash browns on the crunchy side

eggs benedict, on the same theme...

bacon, pico de gallo, mushrooms & strong cheddar omelette with about 5 eggs and crunchy hash browns on the side

breakfast burrito - scrambled eggs, hot sauce, chorizo, cheese, a little salsa

New York Strip steak and eggs with A1 steak sauce

now I'm hungry :| Yes, I'm going to die of a heart attack at 400lbs...and?

a quick tip (not that anyone asked) - for brilliant (easy, non-authentic) home made hash browns, microwave the spuds the night before until fully cooked, keep them in the fridge overnight, then grate or crumble them just before frying, mix with plenty of s&p and then fry them....almost like the real thing (which of course is the industrial stuff that comes in frozen 10lb bags that they serve in diners). ;)

2 free range eggs. 2 rashers of smoked back bacon and 3 sausages - pork and leek. piece of toast, tomatoes and field mushrooms fried on olive oil. 2 hash browns. bit of brown sauce on the side

and white filter coffee

lush - am hungry now

Difficult one, this. One one hand I want to go down the north American breakfast route – a waffles, maple syrup, sausages and eggs affair – but then again I'm liking the sound of a Euro-hotel breakfast, with bread rolls, a heaving platter of cold meats and cheeses plus a load of pastries.

In either case there has to be strong, creamy coffee

2 large eggs - fried, of course
or 3 thick rashers of bacon - grilled rather than fried; fried is too greasy
2 or 3 big, thick sausages - grilled
2 or 3 hash browns
Fried mushrooms
Grilled tomato instead of beans.
toast
lots of strong tea

mmmm, cholesterol.

Fried eggs - very runny
Bacon - crispy, not chewy and limp
Mushrooms - lots of, cooked more than just until they are soggy.
Sausages - cooked until very dark brown/ black
Beans - must have!
Black pudding - must be crispy, not too fatty.

Toast - for dipping in the eggs.
Tea - because I just have to have tea!

I tend to avoid cafe breakfasts, because as you may have noticed, I do tend to like everything quite well done, but they seem to try and cook it as little as possible and throw it onto the plates to get it done as quick as possible. If I cook one at home I do tend to grill what I can, and fry in very little oil what I can't.

crispy bacon, 3 sausages, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, black pudding, side of toast, strong tea...that'll do me

2 sausages - grilled
2 rashers - grilled
2 slices black pudding - grilled
2 slices white pudding - grilled
fried potatoes - crispy
flat cap mushroom - grilled & sprinkled with garlic salt
3 spoons Heinz baked beans
poached egg - free range & runny
2 thick slices homemade brown soda bread
cup of very strong tea, no sugar, small drop of milk

when i'm finished all that, if i have room i'd love a croissant with strawberry jam to accompany my second cup of tea. if i'm full then i'll just have more tea

JAYSUS I'M STARVING NOW AFTER THAT!

excellent thread.

sausages - not shitty ones - big fat tasty ones
bacon - smoked - good quality -
black pudding - again good quality
fried bread - not a whole cruton - one that's been cooked well and not over cooked
baked beans
tomato - not canned rarse clart tomato - fresh bumber clart tomato
fried eggs - runny but not embryo runny...

Fried mushrooms, fried cherry tomatoes, baked beans on cheese on toast ( bown bread preferably), small portion of scrambled egg, my dad's home made hash browns, veggie sausage, spare slice of toast and a nice cup of coffee.

( and if I'm having a naughty not veggie moment, crispy streaky bacon - loads of it!!!)
