What's you been mostly playing at the moment?

Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Best NFS in the latest series imo. Utterly fantastic game, all the best bits of the last two and a few from the earlier ones.

Smashing up police cars is the best fun ever. I had a 25 minute chase where I immobilised 42 police vehicles and smashed two out of existence, it doesn't get much better than that.

Interesting I have read mixed reviews. PC Gamer game it 63%. Gamespot 8.4. A few other gave it really high and a found another couple of low ones.

I wonder what is so divisive about it

Civ4, but right now i'm playing the trailer for Elder Scrolls: Oblivion over and over again. It's got a Patrick Stewart voiceover!

I've been doing that :D

Is that the 6 part feature your talking about?

Not sure really, there's no difficulty level on it, it kind of adjusts to how you play but even so it's quite easy, my 11 year old daughter got half way through it in one day and she doesn't play driving games much, she's more a shooter fan. Apart from that I don't really know, the city is superb, the cars are too, maybe it's because the customisation side of it is pretty much unchanged from NFS Underground 2.

Anyway, I don't care, I love it, just driving around the city is a blast, the sensation of speed is amazing and driving along the wide open freeways then blasting through the city is awesome.

Never liked the NFS games, the handling always felt just too arcadey (not that I don't like arcade drivers, big Burnout fan!)...

Yeah it is pretty much like that handling-wise but then I can't be doing with the NASCAR type simulations. I just wanna blast along and not have to worry about my track rod ends if I hit something. :)

Fair enough :)

I liked two and three, though that was way back now. So many late night races, split screen with a mate. Haven't played any NFS since that.

On topic stuff:

Game I am playing at the mo = None. Tried to play Interstate '76 on my comp but it (unsurpisingly) didn't work :(

Not sure what my next game will be.

What's that like? I played Pacific Assault a bit but it was crap...

I like the MOH series. This one is good, but it's going to be too short.

I haven't played Pacific Assault: we got Rising Sun.

Ahh right yeah it's called that on the consoles I think over here. I used to love the MoH games (right back to number one on the PSone) but after Allied Assault it got a bit stale...probably due to a number of the team buggering off and making Call of duty!

So that's what happened. MOH got easier, and Call of Duty's too hard.

Last week I got a 4 PC games for £20 at gamestation (second hand):

Dungeon Siege
Tony Hawk's Underground 2
Diablo II
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

I am now halfway through Dungeon Siege, but I just can't help but keep thinking how it isn't as good as the Baldur's Gate series - its more dumbed down with more brainless bashing, less control and rather than using strategy, tactics and planning to win hard fights you just rush in bash a bit then run away and heal as necessary. It is also very linear and doesn't really present any choices or decisions to make or weigh off against each other. I've kind of got to the point where I just want to finish it and get it over with (I would find it annoying to give up).

I might get myself a proper controller thingy for the Tony Hawk's game as the Pro Skater 3 game almost gave me nerve damage in my fingers from keyboard bashing and unnatural hand positions!

Burnout 3 is the best racing game, imo.

Burnout 3 is fantastic, but the music is terrible - all whiny nu-rock shit.

Yep, I'm going to rip some old skool speed metal to play instead of the dire shit they have. Burnout 4s music aint much better...

PES5 - of course
Crash Bandicoot racer gamer - The only game my gf can play.
Worms Castles - Absolutely shit so stopped after about 30mins of playing.

The soundtrack to NFS: MW is awful too. It's largely a kind of drum n bass/guitar/American rawk hybrid, there's a good track with Chuck D on and one from the Prodigy but that's about it really.

I think 3s music is better than 4, but 4 has improvements as a game. Example, the 'drone' cars don't cause you to crash.

Naw the music is shite; I actually like the fact that you can now fuck up other traffic. Number 3 used to piss me off something chronic having to swerve out of the way all the fucking time, now I can wreck the cunts and get points for it! :D

I played 4 for awhile, then went back to 3, but I can't avoid the other cars in 3 anymore. I automatically make a beeline for them to destroy them.

Silent Hunter 3 U boat Sub Sim, the sea is incredibly realistic, its enough not to throw up with sea sickeness...

RTW
RTW BI massive scale
Doom 3 cool graphics, very frightening
Homeworld 2, space war as ballet!

was looking forward to
Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War

but dev gone belly up
