What's yer dream car?

I had one of these for a bit, a mate lent it me for a few months (I crashed it in the 1st week :o )

Not my best car ever but rapid as fuck :D

Your dream car is a replica?

Trigger talking about his dream woman, “Oh she's nothing to look at, very plain, little scar on her chin where she had a wart removed.”

Well I don't think I'd ever be able ro afford an original and the replica is beautifully made by Chesil...just made in 1972.

If I could get an original for the same money and in perfect nick I'd go for it

Also...I am not really so impressed with the "dream woman" comparison

😳

I've had loads of older cars and my views on them have developed over the years. They are always limited compared to modern cars and, very occasionally, become worth so much money that you daren't drive them - this happened to me with my 'Periscopo' Countach and my R32 GTR.

The 'dream' at the moment would be an AMG GT R Black Series because its got a 720hp flat plane crank motor and a titanium roll cage.

And a Huracan Evo RWD for the school run to keep the mileage down on the AMG.

Another huge bump (14 years) thread. But a good one.

I've always fancied a Silver Cloud convertible. I used to want fast and furious, now I spend my time cruising along in less of a hurry, so a comfortable big cruiser, roof down, enjoying life...

I have found as my interest has waned that my desirable bikes and cars are all out of date, I just don't follow modern machinery these days.

At the moment I don't lust after any cars but I would like to experience a Ducati 900SS Desmo (the one with spoked wheels) at full chat.

That's my issue. So many modern cars are dull, lacking in excitement, style, and character. When I dream, I dream of 60s and 70s cars.

Because I am an ex biker I often stop off at biker stops for a coffee / burger / chat and I notice that I have no clue what modern bikes are. It is also years since I last bought a bike mag .. and when I think of superbikes I might like to get back into they are all 70s or 80s bikes .. classics now really.

I quite like the look of these - though I wonder how easily I could tow a boat with one.
- or perhaps one day the electric version ...

A distant uncle of mine restored this Alvis - he used to be a coach builder at RR. I was lucky enough for him to loan it as a wedding car when I got married.

I’d love a ‘remastered’ version with modern drive chain and electronics.

I would like one of these:

(Austin Healy 3000), but new. Or if an old one came with its own full time mechanic and courtesy car.

Most 2nd-hand ones on the market have been thoroughly refurbed/restored, which usually means the original issues have been sorted.

If you wanted a Triumph Stag, you'd STILL need a f/t grease monkey & courtesy car, because you can't make a silk purse out of the sow's ear of an engine it had, whereas the AH 3000 had the tried & tested Austin C-Series engine which had previously been used in the Austin Princess Van den Plas & Austin Westminster - much heavier cars.

I owned an Audi RS6 and loved it but it was an insane licence killer super expensive to just keep on the road and a “bit performance” feel in the suspension..

so perfect motor for me.....an Audi Allroad with the 4.2 twin turbo RS6 engine in it

comfort practicality and still head banging power

they go quite cheap nowadays, around the 5k mark

Yeah. But I need a car that’s pretty much guaranteed to start every morning. I can’t take the risk of something big going wrong.

Now, if they could only make more modern cars with retro styling.
