What's ya best Boots ever?

Am I the only person to ever instantly hate Doc's?? They made me feet sore and were one of the crappiest pairs of boots I've ever worn(and I have worn MANY pairs of boots :o ) And don't tell me you have to break them in. Good boots shouldn't need broken in.

Not sure what my best ever would be, I might not have bought them yet ;)
Most of my kitten heel boots are really comfy, and I love my thigh boots but they're not very practical for everday wear ;)

i had a pair of British Industrial Giant boots. I think that's what they were called anyway . brown leather with a bit of a heel

they looked after me everywhere and lasted from 1992 till earlier this year. they'd been resoled two or three times and re-heeled innumerable times

it was a sad day when they went to the cobblers in the sky :(

Ah, but that's the whole point :D You see the boots, you desire the boots, you save up for the boots, you buy the boots, and then you suffer in the boots, every day for 3 weeks, then gradually they wear to your shape and don't hurt you any more, and you're so grateful that you love them all the more. :D

Actually, most of the newer fancy Docs don't need breaking in at all.

I used to have a pair of Brasher Cubes. I wore them everywhere, I loved them and when they wore out I went to the shop I got them from and asked for a new pair and they'd stopped doing them. Nothing's come close to replacing them.

I found my docs ok, no great breaking-in & they were a good fit for my broad feet. Which is always a plus.

Didn't really like the look of them tho but they certainly lasted well & were fine for day to day wear.

Funny, I was looking another pair just last night. :D

Got these instead tonight tho:

:)

Had a pair of the original Brasher Boots as well & they were the best general walking boots I've ever owned. Wore them till they literally fell to bits. Currently have a pair of Berghaus boots that are good.

For bike boots, my Datoyna's are the best I've found for quality, waterproofing, comfort & walkability away from the bike. On to my third pair now. Still got an old pair of Frank Thomas boots somewhere that are excellent for riding in but absolutely hell on the feet if you have to walk anywhere..

Pair of matterhorrns I got off e bay huge american army gortex lined boots
comfy as a pair of trainers :) .
Have the horror of a big parade next year could spend hours polisihing ammo boots to be best boots or could paint them with some silcone polish stuff descions descions ?:D

 I have never ever desired a pair of Docs. They just don't do it for me I suppose. The purple velvet ones were pretty but they're just not me.

Mr fish, those boots make the cat look tiny and I know she's not :D

it's almost, but not quite, puss in boots :D

One of her favourite games is to try & get her head into my boots & to attack them & try to retrieve a ball dropped inside. She had already had a go at those! :D

A combination of foreshortening from the wide angle lesn & big feet maybe? :D

always liked docs, got my first pair in 1979:D always had some since then, currently have some doc marten desert boots:cool:

CAT tan desert boots. I've lived in various pairs as day to day shoes for years & my current pair bought back in Feb are probably the most comfortable to date.

I had a lovely pair of Doc Marten jungle boots (high leg, seude and canvas uppers) back in the 80s, lovely and comfortable, they were!

After Docs were sold out and turned to shit, it took me ages to find a good boot - I settled on Magnums, police issue steel toecap with flexible ankle sections. They feel like slippers, but kick like a mule.

So these are decent boots then? I'm sort of on the look out for something similar as well, as I have recently slit the sole of my cheap pair of Lidl lace-up bike boots - Which were reasonable quality & a good fit otherwise. :(

I saw in town this afternoon that one shop has marked their magnums down for the sales & the price is pretty reasonable, even compared to the online firms - Less than £40 for the pair you illustrate. :)

Pair of Berghaus goretex walking boots. They score zero in the fashion stakes, but have seen me through 3 wet glastos and a whole lot of exploring.

That's a very good price. I've had my latest (the ones in the picture) for two years, and they look as good as new.

That said, I am a stickler for polishing my boots and cleaning them when they've been in the mud, and drying them properly when wet. Some people seem to have forgotten the art of brush on/brush off.

Yup, these are good. I have a pair as well but weight & that the lining got scrappy a bit too quickly are the things I have against them.

Excellent, I think I'll be strolling back there in a few days. :)

Yes, I'm looking for something robust that can stay reasonably smart.

I've got a good expensive pair of walking boots (brasher), but my favourites are a pair of black leather, steel-toe-capped, work boots that look like walking boots. They're heavy but incredibly comfortable. Only cost me 20 quid as well.
