Whats The TV Remote Called In your House?

KoD used to call it the 'hoofer doofer' and I am really disappointed to find out that she did not invent that name.

We have three of them because of our digibox and the fact that it is wired via the Video/DVD player. This means that to just put on the TV you have to start with the biggest controller, move to a medium sized one and finally choose the channel on the thinnest one.

Naturally we call the biggest one 'The Fat Controller' and I thought I was being so witty and original until I read this thread. I might go back to calling them all 'zappers'. Sometimes I call them 'phazers'

We have a special container on a table by the sofa in which the whatevertheyarereallycalled are kept so there is no need much to talk about them, a point and a grunt usually suffices.

We seem to have at least 12 sets of THE BUTTONS - tellys, video, DVD, digi-boxes, music centres, computer, playstation and camera. Too much.

"Where are the buttons?" - "in the basket by the fruit bowl OR where you left them!"

The all-in-one ones are handy Ours does the telly, dvd, satalitte & video. We had to send it off when we first got it as it didn't have the right codes for some of our stuff, All-In-One programed it for us and sent it back by return, really good service.

Hurrah I'm not the only one.

I asked some of my non-urban friends what they call the TV remote after reading this thread. One calls it the gaget and the rest all said "what the fuck are you on about? Its called the remote"
