Whats the point of bloody Wigan?

That is a point. It's a shame there's not a culture of vilifying and ridiculing people who don't support the club nearest them (something which does happen in the US, to an extent) but as for Chelsea, until Charlton are challenging for league titles, I couldn't give a toss which overpaid bunch of primadonnas are winning them.

I am certainly bitter and jelous but people who havn't really taken notice of them up till now always play this 'little club' thing - and that really winds me up, because when you are in the same league as them, and they are trying to buy your players for over a million quid - 'little club' doesn't quite ring true - Chelsea of league one more like.

I am perhaps overly bitter, but I was openly mocked by people for bothering to go to springfield park to watch a team I didn't even support in crowds of on a few occaisions less than 1000 people. My own team attracted equal mockery. I went because they were up the road and I like football.

The self same people (can give names :D ) now boast about their latics tickets. I just think there are clubs that deserve the limelight more - like brighton, like stoke, like Hull, like so many, many more, that have had a decent, hardcore, loyal followings and are actually important community focal points (Wigan already had the worlds best rugby team, no-one gave a shit about football - but Whelen bought both and doesn't put the same money into the rugby club.)
If it wasn't for whelen, Wigan would be worse of than Macc Town now. That is not true of Charlton and of many, many clubs.

Who said football was fair though....

Actually I did. And they are - no-one gave a fuck in Wigan when the club looked like folding in the early nineties. How do I know? I went to watch them cos I lived there.
Have a look at the average attendances on soccerbase. Half the reason they have any crowds at all is the Rugby club has fallen from grace somewhat in recent years.

Tell me about it I went to see the Dons play Wigan at Springfield Park (wot a shithole) in 1983. The crowd was under 2000. So they are having their days in the sun. So what jealous because you were not even born when Blackpool had their time oin the sun..??

Look - I have witnessed two LDV victories and two play off triumphs as well as three straight victories in the Masdon Lancashire Cup. Not alive during Blackpool's day in the sun - I don't think I know what you mean. :D
