What's the one act you always end up coming back to?

Bob Dylan. I go through phases of not listening to him much, but every so often I put an album, or a few favourite songs on, and he never fails to impress me.

Ditto The Oysterband, who are about the one act who've never recorded anything I don't like.

For me, gotta be Deftones. Been listening to them again tonight for the first time in a few months and still fucking adore every song they've ever done. For me, my favourite act of all time.

That, however, isn't exactly the point of thread. Not 'which is your favourite', more 'what act do you drift away from for a bit, but then have a listen every once in a while and get totally sucked into'.

Deftones, I salute you.
This, basically. Bought B-Sides and Rarities about a month ago, it's been on HEAVY rotation since.

Bit worried about the band since Chi Cheng's accident though, hope he pulls through :(

In terms of stuff that I leave for a bit but always go back to,

Pearl Jam
Belle & Sebastian
Smashing Pumpkins
Mogwai (which is a bit of a lie as I am always listening to Mogwai but hey ho)
Dylan
Pink Floyd
loads of stuff...

There is much more stuff that I love but I tend to consistently listen to it so it doesn't really fit the OP.

I think that the Deftones have done some wicked stuff. Use to listen to them all the time.
Went to a (kinda) secret gig at the Kentish Town Forum about 10 years ago that blew me away.
Can't say that I have listened to them for a very long time though.

pitchshifter.

Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in.

Can go months without listning to more then a couple of trcks and then for a day or two i'm pretty much injecting them.

Deftones isn't a bad shout as well though and alice in chains.

First and foremost, The Charlatans. All too often I find myself browsing through iTunes and just putting their whole lot on random.

The Beatles come a very close second, but I always seem to stick Abbey Road on rather than their other stuff.

Agree with both of those big time. Probably only bested by Captain Beefheart.:)

Wouldn't it be good if just for one night they swapped lyrics?

'Our House' to the tune of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'?

'Dead Souls' to the tune of 'Baggy Trousers'?

:D "My Girl" to the tune of "Atmosphere".
It works, i just tried it.

Whitney Houston
