I drove over 18,000 kilometers in GT3 during a six month obsession. Got all the licences and serched the net for tips on setting the suspension of the cars. Finally gave up with the game 92% complete. Never mastered the Zonda on the Italian Circuit.... :(

Fuck, forgot the GT series! I'm seriously thinking about buying a ps3 when it comes out, just for GT5  @ me

Out of interest, what are these like compared to the BG or Dungeon Siege games for example?

x-com: enemy unknown.

elite on my BBC B.

final fantasy VII, VIII, IX and X.

Football management games - the champ manager and now football manager series.

Wizardry: Bane of the Cosmic Forge on the amiga.

Mario Kart.

Any Civilisation game.

At the moment I am obsessed with Civ 4, Football Manager 2006, Resident Evil 4, Star Wars Galaxies....

I have owned an Intellivison, an Atari 2600, a BBC B, an Amstrad 6128, an Amiga, SNES, Dreamcast, N64, Playstation, PS2, 2 PCs and a DS.

Oh, I'd forgotten about that coz I haven't played it for ages. I think I lost days on that one :o

Moria/angband/zangband/tome school of games.

Utterly, utterly addictive.

Like stay up all night and scip work addictive.

* Elite First Encouters, nearly failed my exams on that...!
* Grand Theft Auto San Adreas & Liberty City...
* Wipeour Pure, made even more addictive since its on the PSP and it can be played anywhere...

the two that have really got me in my life are champiopnship manager. totally addicted, use it as a kind of relaxation method now, and currently GTASA, though i'm now trapped by my spazzy inability to make anything fly well enough to complete missions.

Easily one of the best games on the PS2, it's a shame that it wasn't better received as I was looking forward to Summoner III. KotOR on the X-box ripped off the basic game play of the Summoner series.

Sensible Soccer on the Atari...
Final Fantasy VII on PS took up an entire summer, and I never properly finished it :(

Everquest pretty much took over my life for 2 years. Played it every free moment I had, it was also responsible for me losing a job!

Played WOW recently and thankfully didnt get addicted to it in the same way, I think im free of mmorpg addiction now ;)

Defintely better than Dungeon Siege, much less linear, more immersive, more varied (lots of little side quest, lot's of exploring to be done). I just about prefer BG to M&M VI, but BG2 was a better sequel to BG than any of succeeding M&M games. BG: NWN, I never really got into, far too short.

M&M VI was one of the best first-person RPG's ever made; M&M VII-VIII used the same game engine as M&M VI and aren't vast improvements on the original; MMIX uses a graphically superior engine, but this means it doesn't have the same vast open maps as M&M, nothing innovative just a prettier game for the fans of the series.

Wipeout - so addictive, couldn't even stop for a cigarette, and the dreams man!

Also Green Beret, Jetpac on the Spectrum

Wasn't it based on Neverwinter Nights? If so, was that borrowed from that series, too?
