What's the most obsessional computer game you have played?

hed better watch out then :) i do play half life 2 death match more though...thats the one i really whoop ass at....my clan is one of the top clans....and go to tornis where can win money yay

oh yes and i am a geek very much so..

Good God. This is going back a bit... but if anyone here remembers Action Quake 2... I was in clan .zen. which was pretty fucking awesome. This was back when the only tournaments were played in the states and prize money was in dollars!

Fuck... I had all the trimmings... feet pads, left hand control pad.... extra heavy mouse... truly badass equipment.

I used to drop acid and play all night... it got so bad I used to get terrifying flashbacks and a sense of losing reality whenever I got on the underground...

:D

I once played it for 39 hours without respite. :o

It sucks you in - and the 'one more game' scenario.

'One more game' at 10pm can turn into 'Seriously, this is my last game' at 4am. :o

tetris and pacman can still absorb hours of my life

Tetris was bad!! Don't think I can do 9-5 now :( I do like the little orchestra though :)

LOL @ Tedix and Duck Tales :D

I think, like Guine, I have a bit of an addictive personality going on with games. Primal and all the Devil May Cry games are excellent and must be completed before housework, socialising, etc.

Yesterday I bought Taito Legends, a mere £8 and I have Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands and Pheonix on one disc. SWEET!!! :D

I may not be here long, cya :D

It's the detail...

For me the processing is too slow, I have a decent laptop, but it takes ages between matches, which adds to the time.

Final Fantasy VII on PS and Champ Managers 2 & 3 though I limited the last two to a degree by playing only when with a particular mate.

All summer.

I'm crap at most games though, which is just as well.

The GTA Series. Completely obsessed with them (especially 3). Stopped playing computer/console games after that and eventually gave the PS2 to my nephew. My brother now hates me. :D

Oh god ...

Elite (on the spectrum!)

Champ man.

Sensible world of soccer.

Civ (1,2 & 3)

Medieval total war.

the hours and hours I have put into those games ... the jobs and relationships Ive put in jepody ... but it was worth it!

Editor - you actually got into Elite frontier? I could never get me head round it.

CM03/04 was the worst for that, took forever.
They are getting better with the processing time though, this one, Fm2006, isn't too slow at all - unless its the 1st preliminary round of the FA cup

I'm in 2016 and the majority of the regens in the world are English, which is a bit of a pain. And they all have 'John Smith'-esque names.

Maybe it's cos I have it on massive database and most detail. it takes a while, even with the ability to interupt the processing turned off.

I drove over 18,000 kilometers in GT3 during a six month obsession. Got all the licences and serched the net for tips on setting the suspension of the cars. Finally gave up with the game 92% complete. Never mastered the Zonda on the Italian Circuit.... :(

I've got medium database and all the English leagues, as well as the 'retain english players' command. Hense all my regens.

This database is immense. It has players in it who haven't had a team since the mid-nineties.

I used to have a Spectrum ZX when I was a kiddie, followed by the Spectrum Plus 2, then after that I migrated into the Atari ST, then the Sega Mega Drive and then onto the PS1 and 2.

I miss the Speccie Plus 2: Football Manager (when Kevin Keegan was a player) Bootie (the silly pirate figures running back and forth)

and I miss Akari Warriors on the Atari ST, plus Robocop.

this is 20 plus years ago.
Ive lost track now. Im not into basketball or football based games where you run your man across a pitch etc...
I like the resident evil collection and stuff like that tho.

Pah!! We had the original games console iirc. That thing with the bats and the square ball. You could play tennis, basketball and something else I think. This progressed to handheld machines, pacman(big flat thing with a joystick), donkey kong(fold over screen thing) and various other types, then a master system, SNES, PS1 & 2, gameboy original, gameboy colour, advance and advance sp. Still got a lot of them and they all still work :D

This is 30+ years :p

Main contenders probably......

Zelda on the N64
Shadowman 1 on N64, Shadowman 2 on PS2
All the GTAs
Medieval Total War
Operation Flashpoint
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark

But the one I'm still playing after finding a cheap copy last week......

Longest time I have spent playing a single game would have to be either Baldur's Gate or Baldur's Gate 2 - but this is more to do with the size and nature of the game rather than them being any more addictive than some other ones. For example I played Max Payne and Max Payne 2 almost continuously as they were really immersive and more-ish but they are simply far shorter games than the massively epic BG series. Also if I added up all the separate times I have played Counter Strike: Source or Alpha Centauri they might be up there but not in continuous, solid blocks.

Jet Set Willy - spectrum

thank god for emulators :D

oh yeah and CS 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 + Cz gonna bash you up
