What's the best way to use your vote to stop Boris?

but Australia's a parliamentary system (so there's other issues, like your constituency, national politics etc.).

I would point you to the low turnout (in a compulsory voting country) of the recent LG elections in QLD which included voting for a mayor for the Sunshine Coast because the voting system was too complex, and that used an SV system.

I was talking bollocks, as per

From the website

"If you vote for the same candidate for first and second choice, only one vote will be counted. You cannot improve the chances of your chosen candidate by giving them your first and second choice votes."

Doh!

:)

Shit.

Yet again I don't understand voting.

So. If I want to help the greens but stop Boris then I do what?
Vote Sian/Ken or Ken/Sian.

Sian/Ken makes your support for the Greens crystal clear, but slightly increases the tiny risk that Ken won't come in the top two in the first round and thus the risk that Boris will win the second. But it's a tiny risk.

Ken/Sian makes it a bit more likely that Ken will get to the second round, but not much. The 2nd pref vote for Sian will technically never be counted, but it will appear in the statistics, so it will still help the Greens make their mark.

Ken is the only candidate that can realistically beat Boris, so if you don't vote for Ken on one of the two votes, you might as well vote for Boris.

what if i draw a great big "KEN'S NUMBER ONE!!!111 UP BORIS BUM GRRRR LOLOLOL" on my card, Lo Siento? How many extra votes will they give Ken for that?
