What's that Pate that rich people eat called?

Mrs Miggins said:
I wasn't defending the practice - which is why I said it is indefensible - I was pointing out that you don't actually know what you're talking about. .
Fair enough, its not a lifetime they suffer, its the last few months or whatever, so what, they still fucking suffer.

Mrs Miggins said:
You'd prefer to just brand everyone as a cunt rather than enter into any sort of conversation. Why bother trying to persuade people that they really shouldn't eat foie gras on the ground of cruelty if you can just get their backs up and call them names eh?.

I've been the major converser on this thread. It wasnt calling names in the playground sense, it was an honest feeling toward people who'll contribute to the torture of animals in order for them to enjoy some fucking pate. On being challenged on that I entered into conversation.

Thing is, Yetman, I never claimed any moral high ground did I? I answered a thread honestly. I know that the means of production are fucking horrible but nevertheless, on rare occasions, I will eat it because it's delicious.

Somebody with morals as low as yours cant even see the moral high ground let alone comment on someone who you think is claiming it.

'Because its delicious'?

Oh how lovely for you! I hope you enjoy sitting on your veranda in the afternoon sun, nibbling down your canapés, foi gras and melba toast as hundreds of geese on the continent choke on metal tubes and their own vomit as their livers expand to splitting point, I’m sure they actually don’t mind it all as long as you find it ‘delicious’.

As long as stuck up bitches like you think their ability to impress her posh darling chums with her expensive pate and tigerskin coat is more important than the pain an animal goes through to provide it there will always be unnecessary suffering in the world. Sorry for having a problem with that…..

I hope this image burns itself into the back of your eyelids and honks at you every time you raise another bite of that shit to your mouth love.

Can you honestly say that you live by every single one of your no doubt very fine and high morals 100% of the time, each day and every day? If you can, then I bow to your moral superiority for you truely are super-human. Rather than sub-human like me and a few others who have had the balls to admit eating it.

When it comes to others suffering massively for my minor gain?? In every way possible.

Damn this thread, now I'm all hungry! I love foie gras. Mind you I also like KFC. When it comes to food production it seems that most animals are treating cruelly. They should be treated better.

Could we all please learn to spell it before arguing about it?
It is:
Foie Gras
Note the e and the s.
Now carry on fighting, it's well amusing.

Oh if only! you are a complete fantasist! What fabulous assumptions you make!

I don't have the energy for this anymore. I have to go out and buy some larks tongues from Harvey Nicks before they run out.

Oh - BTW - I will print out that picture because until you came along, I honestly had no idea whatsoever that the little darling geese suffered at all

Anything else I can say to make you even more apoplectic?

Yetman said:
I deliberately spell it wrong in order to repeatedly insult it :p
This is a good reason.
Does it apply to other things too?
So if I spell myself preplesxi is it a diss? Would there be grades of misspelling that convey extra offence?
Gosh.

I've given a load of geese your address, expect 'a little visit' later on ;)

Gosh.

As long as you can still tell what they are meaning to say, yes.

First time doesnt work btw, you need to keep repeating the error, even when they correct you :)

Jesus do I have to explain everything about everything to everyone today?!?!

You can all fuck off - foie gras is fucking delicious. Fuck the geese.

Everything I've said in this thread is now aimed at you :)

P.S I hope someone spikes your lasagne with leprosy, locks you in your house then runs off with your wife and leaves you to flap around the kitchen with bits of skin hanging off you, crying :)

:D

And may I wish you a long, happy and fecund life, only disturbed at it's end by the imposition of silver fish parasites swimming up you japs eye.

Just finished reading this http://ec.europa.eu/food/fs/sc/scah/out17_en.pdf 9 year old report and it struck me that the conditions the geese were kept in for the last 2-4 weeks of their lives - in total darkness basically - was more cruel than the force feeding itself, which seems to be an extension of the birds natural habit prior to migration - albeit on a massively unhealthy scale.

Having said that the report recommends that force feeding is 'a bad thing' and causes the birds all sorts of health problems and an increased mortality rate - it goes on to suggest some guidelines for more humane production - with at least one expert calling for an outright ban.

Given that it's difficult to wade through the AR propaganda to find any credible info on this, I haven't been able to find a source for whether any of these guidelines have been introduced more recently - either that or there's no info available.

It's worth reading section 8 of that - starts at about page 60.

I'm undecided as to whether I'd eat Foie Gras, I think I'd probably try it if the opportunity arose

Hey! You into that too?! Didnt realise there was so many kinky people like me on here! Cheers mate, I hope it happens to you too! :)

*fingers crossed*

From a report quoted by Fen Boy

...force feeding is 'a bad thing' and causes the birds all sorts of health problem and an increase mortality rate

I would have thought that the increased mortality rate would also be as a result of being killed so that their livers can be removed.

well quite.
The report was quite insistent in its recommendation that measures should be taken to reduce the mortality rate - does seem a little odd considering you'd only extend their life by about a week.

Sorry, did make that point very well did I :D

What I meant was some people think its ok to torture animals like that for their pleasure (be it sport or 'unnecessary' food) as they are not people, they dont have feelings.

Similar things have happened where real people have experienced the same as their torturers didnt see them as people.
)

Maybe they didn't see them as people, but the gays and jews are people.

No matter how you look at them, ducks and geese aren't people.
