I found there was a complete absence of any pressure to do anything, partly because its the size of a postage stamp, partly because its very relaxing and partly because there's not really a whole heap to do. You could spend your entire time at your tent and not feel you'd missed out much.
Yes, this is exactly why I loved it last year. Like going camping with mates, but with music. No pressure to rush off to see bands you couldn't possibly miss, fun music you discover accidentally and a great chance to spend time and catch up with people you might not have seen for ages. Some of my favourite bits last year were just hanging out in the sunshine around the tents and talking crap with people.
I have to say I didn't actively notice the lack of hippies last year, but I never really pay that much attention to the hippy undertones at most festivals long enough for it to bother or not bother me anyway. No wonder El Jefe told me off recently for describing it as little and hippy when someone asked if there would be vege food there! I didn't realise people seem to note that it is not hippy as a plus.... I really should pay more attention to my surroundings
