what's in your make-up bag?

I'm a rubbish burd along with foo, unix and geminisnake. And quite pleased about it. I have one eyeliner in my pocket. Oh, I also have an eyebrow pencil, as I have hardly any eyebrows, so that'd look silly with the eyeliner.

Ppff, I'm worser than you then if you know how to apply eyeliner :p

god i long for the old days before "threads & dreads" came about...:D :p
:) It is rather like all these threads people have been holding in are suddenly just pouring out innit!

I think its cool we have a place to talk this stuff!

what a good idea!!!

I feel ashamed by mine!

It's really tatty and just has mascara and touch eclait in it.

I have a lippy and translucent powder in my handbag for emergencies.

I did have a tinted moisturiser once but I think the teenager must have pinched it. :(

Mine has:

Benefit pressed powder
Laura Mercier blusher
3 Mac eyeshadows
1 Bourjois eyeshadow
mascara
lipstick
2 lipglosses - one reddish, one coral
one blue eyeliner
Benefit ooh la lift
A little set of mini brushes
A random pair of earrings

I have a load of other stuff on my dressing table as well, that I don't carry around.

I used it quite a lot when I first got it, and liked it, but as with most things, it fell by the wayside - it's in bag no. 2 (non essential)

I could only use it if my skin was tip top, and that doesn't happen very often.

it left my skin feeling and looking lovely, might have to dig it out again once I get my skin sorted for a couple of days.

I wear make up for work, so my small bag contains:

Perfect Match foundation
Cosmetic sponge with which to apply the above
Dark brown eyebrow/eyeliner pencil
Maybelline eye shadow - Chocolate
Some shiny pinky/silvery shadow for me lids
Pressed powder which I always use underneath eyeshadow
'Nude' pressed powder blusher
Black mascara, waterproof
Blusher brush - but it's too big for the bag, so probably shouldn't be included :D

I can never get the lid off my Dr Feelgood  so it's in the secondary bag. Or possibly even the tertiary bag :o

In the one with stuff I use regularly in it I have:
Lancome teint idole
Touche eclat
No7 matte under make up base
No7 concealer
Lancome magie blush
Rimmel lipstick
Lancome brown eyeliner pencil
Bodyshop lipbalm
No7 pressed powder
Vitaleyes eyedrops
A blister pack of Rennies
A packet of homeopathic teething granules
A hair elastic

Blimey. I only have one make-up bag, a small green mesh affair, and yet have managed to squeeze the following into it:

Urban Decay black eyeliner pencil
UD purple eyeliner pencil
Rimmel black eyeliner pencil
Barry M black liquid eyeliner
Coast eyeshadow (sort of greenish blue shimmer)
UD eyeshadows (one bright electric blue, one iridescent purple, one glittery black)
B Never... eyeshadow (yellow)
Barry M Dazzle Dust (one bright fuschia pink, one deep greenish-black)
ancient silver dust pot with the brand rubbed off
ditto slate grey dust pot
BWC eyeshadow due (light green/dark green)
Rimmel eyeshadow (light cream, a good base hue)
UD deep pink lip gloss/balm thing
B Never... lip tint in a pot (rose pink)
loads of scraggy cotton buds that have all been used already, no matter how hard I look
several pink emery boards
eyeliner brush
eyeshadow brush
BWC foundation

Outside the bag (they don't fit in) I have BWC translucent loose powder, B Never... blusher in Bongo :D, and the brushes with which to apply these items.

I'm sure there's more; I will come back if I remember :o

In the regular bag

YSL Touche Eclat
Benefit Dr Feelgood
Benefit You Rebel
Some Hydrasense foundation
bronzing pearls
Body Shop 4 colour eyeshadow palette
Benefit bad gal liquid eyeliner
Maybelinne Great Lash Mascara
Tweezers
Nail scissors
Body Shop glitter lip gloss

Think that's about it for regular make up I have another bag full of stuff I only use occasionally.

Need to go and get properly madeover for a decent base soon though.

Cant decide on Benefit or Prescriptives...

where do you go for this base makeover, zenie? I have no idea how to do that sort of thing....

Nah well neither do I :o

I just use tinted moisturiser then concea;ler then foundation, but I'm never happy with the result  :D

Thought I'd treat myself next month and go and buy some proper make-up as I'm really jealous of all these ladies with good base make up and thus lovely (looking ;) )skin

I used presecriptives years ago and it was really good. i like benefit but not sure if it really is a good foundation/base company or if it just uses very good marketing and packaging! :o

ooh i have a makeup bag . . .

its got some chalk, a screwdriver, a small torch, a box of matches and a lot of dust in it.

:)

I've been thinking of going to Bobbi Brown for that - they're really good for bases apparently.

That No7 shine free makeup base I mentioned back there <<< is really good. Costs about a tenner and lasts for ages. I just use it on my nose cos that's what gets shiny.

At the moment..........

Perfect match foundation and powder
Bourjois blusher
Touche Eclat
Rimmel concealer
More eye pencils that I care to think about
Max Factor mascara
Rimmel Mascara
Bourjois liquid liner
A couple of lipsticks
Lip gloss
lip pencil x2
dazzle dust x 2
Bourjois eye shadow trio
Bourjois single eyeshadow

I bought some Dr Feelgood stuff because ..I dunno now!

I just can't remember what it's supposed to be for because it doesn't do anything you can actually see.

Is it a kind of polyfilla thing? It was bloody expensive so I'm wondering if it will double as some kind of shoe polish.

The Benefit High beam is quite good, though. Dewey freshness and all.

I've got a big drawer in the bedroom (bottom of his chest of drawers) and that has heaps of tat in but includes things like sunscreen. There's a smallish drawer next to me. Which has overflow from my day to day stuff. One bag has everything like mascara (1 normal, 1 waterproof, 1 clear), tinted moisturiser, brow pencil, eyeliner, touche eclat, curlers, eyeliner smudger, 4 brushes, matt black eyeshadow, other eyeshadow, tweezers, lipfinity. That's all I can remember. My other bag has shadows in. About 30 in greens, blues, purples, blacks etc. I've got nail varnish out on the desk and some urban decay stuff (poker lip gloss set and face case) next to the monitor. I really can't be bothered to list it all.

There's more in the bathroom and various pockets of bags.
:o

I've got a pot of glitter that I'd smear on my face to make it look like I'd made an effort for parties

In the one I carry with me:

L'Oreal Carbon Black Voluminous Mascara
Revlon Colour Stay Eyeliner in Black'
Benefit Bad Gal Eyeliner in Black
Prestige Sahara Powder Eyeliner crayon in a coppery brown
MAC eyeshadow - Gleam
MAC eyeshadow - Antiqued
Ultima II Blush (about 100 years old) in a pinky bronze
MAC lipsticks - Del Rio, X-Pose, Viva Glam II
Avon Eyeliner pencil in navy
MAC lipgelee in a pinky colour
MAC Lipglass - Nico
Eyeshadow brush and applicator
Burt's Bees Beeswax Lipbalm
lip exhancer cream
Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Sandstorm
eyebrow tweezers,

also have a huge quilted bag full of stuff I subsitute in on occasion, I think I'm going to go and check it out!

fun post!
