I’m going to have some lentils, and some cabbage.
I need something really simple.
Christmas leftovers. #fifthmealrunning
Chinese is on its way x
Normal food. Phew. Lemon, tomato and kale spaghetti.
Gearing up for a Christmas buffet.
eggs, beans, chips and a fuckton of chocolate
Yesterday after the races I ducked into Bunsen for a cheeseburger with handcut chips and strawberry milkshake. After a day's betting on horses and drinking hot port and whiskey, this was a real treat.
Today it'll be mashed spuds with scallions, chicken kievs and baked beans, I think. We had the christmas cheese for breakfast. I didnt cook a turkey at mine, so no leftovers (but we did take a doggy bag home on Stephens day). I'll be cooking on NY day, though it'll be a scrummy traybake of some sort and the kids favourite cake.
chili con carne
Salmon tonight. Am hoping most of the christmas junk and alcohol has gone now as my body really doesn't want any more. Feeling extra bleurgh and lethargic and just can't be bothered with anything but duvet and crap telly. Don't like feeling like this atall!!
Freezer foraged Carbonnade Flamande.
The bloke has requested roast potatoes to go with it.
Steamed green veg.
Vegan sausages, crushed spuds, beans
Leftover butterfly buns.
I'm going for the Hiper Cozido a Portuguesa again
3 meats, 4 sausages, cabbage, potato, beets, carrot, proper gravy. rice and red beans. I'm not touching the extras this time. This is about as close as Portugal does a Sunday roast.
Woah! Way too much salt. Won't be doing that again.
Two cartons of chopped tomatoes, half a pound of baby broad beans, brown rice, chilli flakes and olive oil.
Carefully picked turkey carcass in a casserole of leeks , onion , stock , green beans , - a bit of sliced bacon for flavour with garlic - may eke out with dumplings and some small cubed roast potatoes.
5 to feed and cold out there - so best bulk out a bit I think.
A monster sized turkey stew. Should be plenty left to bung in the freezer.
You have never met my 2 young adults - both been at work and they can eat.....(both very fit though I assure you and not obese - like their food c/o a good Pa who is happy to cook)
Sausage stew with rice, or maybe mash. Cauliflower and broccoli.
Go for the mash - onion gravy / mustard mixed into the mash ?
A big veg soup/stew from all the cheepo veg the supermarket was dumping
We both prefer rice. Maybe mash with the leftovers
Last of the turkey curry.
Last of some raspberry roulade.
Last of the sweets.
Pasta bake to use up some leftover bits from the fridge. That was quite early though, so I’ll probably be snacking later too
Chickpea pilaf, fiendishly hot Indian slaw and pomegranate raita.
Clearly needs double posting. *all* our Christmas leftovers pie
Plus chorizo, and added cranberry and bread sauces.
Veggie burger in bun with salad (not chips) in the pub, after grazing on Christmas cake in the afternoon. Handful of chocolates.
Probably homity Pie (bought at Tebay services) plus baby potatoes, chanterelle carrots, green beans & gravy. If not buffet food as going to a party.
An egg, avocado & quinoa pot, a chicken & stuffing sandwich - reduced to clear.
