What's for dinner?

Couldn't be arsed tonight so Blind Lemon had sausage sarnies but last night was a good 'un...bought cooked pork from the Chinese supermarket and beansprouts. Fried onions and garlic in sesame oil in a wok while I cooked some rice....added frozen petit pois, five spice powder, chilli flakes, pickled ginger, the pork cut into small bits to the onions, cooked for a bit stirring all the time then added the beansprouts, cooked and stirred for a bit more, added soy sauce, took off the hob and then stirred in the cooked rice...went down very well......

I have decided to treat myself to a curry from the Bombay Bicycle Club. I have a chicken murgh dansak, saag, rice and a naan arriving in the next 15 minutes

Brown rice, broccoli (does anyone actually know how to spell broccoli?), cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, tough spinach, toasted sunflower seeds and a bit of soy sauce. Boring but nutritious  I also had a glass of ginger beer with the juice and flesh of two limes in it, and a pomegranate. WHAT HAVE I BECOME?

my son has locked himself in the kitchen with two of his metaller mates and they are making home-made pizza and pasta I think....

Rock n roll isn't what it used to be.

two of my mates used to work in there when we were a lot younger :) Brings back memories!

I am making red lentil dhal and (hopefully) exciting rice.
You've just inspired me to maybe do something with some spinach too...
Then there is cake.
And maybe beer.

 I forgot to my chicken out the freezer this morning, so have no idea what to cook tonight... unless you can defrost chicken in the microwave? I never have before

This is going to be controversial, but if it was me I'd just bung them in a sauce and simmer them for hours, occasionally mashing bits off with a wooden spoon, until I was totally sure they were cooked through.

I'd do that with mince Enid, but with chicken I'd defrost in the microwave first. Mainly because your chicken idea would be some really overcooked chicken and some just done which would be weird. Not dangerous I don't think, just not very nice.

Decided to leave the chicken until tomorrow in the end... quick pasta dish for tonight - ta for advice though :)

well tonight mattew we are eating

freshly caught north atlantic cod rolled lightly in the finest batter avec pommes frites seasoned with a slight hint of ground sea salt and a soupson of finest malted vinegar

We had a one-pot meal which was like minestrone soup but with less liquid and more chunky vegetables and pasta. In my heart-shaped Le Creuset casserole. :)

There's loads of it as well - I'd have invited you round had i heard about your chicken problems earlierl! ;)
Maybe some time next week. :)
