bump to say that even though holby is still made of win, they're dragging out the conjoined twins story a bit too much for me.

and casualty has completely shuffled off of my essential saturday night viewing list.

it used to be the case that Casualty was the daddy, the jewel in BBC1's saturday evening drama crown. and holby sprung up, it's little spin-off baby. brilliant telly in it's own right, but still in the shadow of it's A&E based parent. but lately it seems like casualty has fallen by the wayside, with the storylines getting crapper and crapper (psychics giving paramedics signs to help fnd missing kids?!?!?) whilst holby gets superstars like, erm, patsy minogue - sorry, patsy kensit - roped in to help on the wards.

come on BBC - either get casualty back to it's former glory or swap the two round, and have holby on at the weekend.

oh and bring back anton meyer to holby

you are so much funnier than that bloke dodgepot. :(

Holby all the way - me n unix have got a big soggy crush on Connie Beauchamps.

Is it Casualty or Holby that has the ace adverts?

Gothic witchy women, music that sounds like Marilyn Manson, vampires, murder and stuff and then it cuts to a hospital.

I LOL'd. A lot. :D

I haven't watched it for years cos I'm never in at that time but I used to love Casualty, esp the opening scenes in which you had to guess how and when the new character on the screen was going to get hurt. They're in the kitchen. They reach for the kettle - oh no, they're gonna get electrocuted! Phew! Ah, they're going to scald themselves? Phew! They reach for a cupboard door - oh no, something's gonna fall out and crush their skull! Phew! Then a tiger comes in and mauls them.

Heh. My mate was immensely proud of his leading role on the big series opening episode of Casualty, where they pushed the budget boat out.

He got to have a stonking argument with his girlfriend on screen, storming out and leaving her by the car. And in a Mousetrap series of obvious visual clues you just knew something awful was going to happen.. and then KABOOM out of nowhere the whole multi-storey car park explodes. Cut to scene of him looking distraught and dozens of passers by clutching suspiciously crimson wounds.

Don't make em how they used to eh. All the best special effects disasters have gone to Hollyoaks these days.

no. why would i have to watch it "in secret"

i never said i don't watch it i said it's no longer on my essential viewing list.

having you away on holiday was a breath of fresh air, tbh

@NVP - yeah, they're cool :D

You missed me really didn't you dodgepot? :(

I'm going to tape Casualty when I come down to play so that I can watch it and think of you.

So, on to the really important debate that has thus far been obscured.

Which doctor, nurse, or both if you lead a colourful life, from either series, would you most like to give you a sponge bath?

Eh?

EEEHHH?

EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH?

Isn't he mean to me NVP? :(

Yes, he is. I shall resolve the problem forthwith.

*Cocks flamethrower*

*Dons fireproof suit*

*Sets out in search of the dreaded Dodgepot*

'I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like... Victory...'

'MOOHAHAHAHAAAAA!'

Abs. :)

as casualty gets worser and worserer, holby gets better and betterer.

i had to point that out because it's true.

the christmas special of holby was ace. very moving.

i wish they'd stop the ridiculous trippy Christmas specials on Holby. Still better than Casualty though, unless you enjoy playing Spot The Stiff.

my mum doesn't like those either, so she switches over after 10 minutes or so. though she fell asleep during the richard briers one and i got to see it all the way through - silly nonsense imo.
