Never seen it RD?

In for a treat

Nope. When I was in China, there were heaps and heaps of US series on DVD, but UK series were much harder to come across. I found a multiset of spooks once and that was about it. So looking for Blackbooks or Green Wing in China would have been like looking for a fart in a jacuzzi...

From the ones I've seen out of those, it'd be Peep Show, but I reckon Shameless shames any other contenders for comedy series of the decade.

Black Books is fucking excellent, but I reckon Peep Show takes it, just for 'She's ignoring me. Of course, she's ignoring me. I sent her a swastika.'

I'm pretty much the same with Black Books as it goes.

I don't particularly find Dylan Moran funny, and Bill Bailey acting is nowhere near as funny as his standup.

The Office, followed by Phoenix Nights and Peep Show. Such a shame Gervais has turned into such an unfunny wanker though...

He was always an unfunny wanker. It's just with The Office that was kind of the point. Stephen Merchant has always been the brains, I reckon.

From that list it's a toss up between Peep Show, Black Books and IT crowd.
Peep show went on too long and stopped being funny. I can't decide between Black Books and IT crowd.
I voted IT crowd as that was the fen_wife's choice.
I also like Green Wing a lot.

I find Peep Show embarrassing more than funny a lot of the time. A lot of it makes me really really cringe. I guess that's the idea.

My mate says I'm just like mark :hmm:

There is a similarity in some of the things he thinks, like "And I blame myself for everything from Jez's current economic plight to the pollution caused by industrialisation in China". :D

Bits like that are good. I do think Peep Show is a little overrated though. It just seems to look for ways to shock people a lot of the time, rather than beign genuinely funny.

Oh dear, I'm turning into my dad :(

For me , Early Doors , it was as good as early Royle Family . Constantly funny , intelligently written , anyone who has spent time in a similar pub will identify with the characters , all very believable . The two policemen just had to walk in and it would make me smile.

Yes:). I worked in a pub like that in the 80s.

But then Benidorm. Especially Donald and Jaqueline. :D:D

I think the first series is the creme de la creme of all-time British comedy

There were good episodes in the subsequent series, but the first series in its entirety is pure classic. Nuff said.

Ah for me, Red Dwarf is, when it was still good. There have been some good comedy programmes in the last 10 years but nothing comes anywhere near Dwarf for me.

Extras -- not funny
Black Books -- quite funny
The IT Crowd -- not funny
Peep Show -- haven't seen it
The Inbetweeners -- haven't seen it
15 Storeys High -- haven't even heard of it.
Little Britain -- really really not funny
Nathan Barley -- funny very occasionally, other times cringeworthy

Hmm, maybe I just don't have a sense of humour...

Its not on the list, but I thought the last episode of Pulling that's just been on was absolutely brilliant. Why the frig have they scrapped it? And 2 Pints of piss is still being made!

Oh, I didn't see Peep Show in the list for some reason, so I ticked The IT Crowd. But I might have ticked The IT Crowd anyway.

I think I was living in a different when the Office started out and maybe Black Books too, so I didn't watch or get into them.

Love The IT Crowd, Peep Show and Green Wing (I love the hospital administrator character, totally barmy), I remember I quite liked Nathan Barley, but I can't even remember much about it now, so it can't have been that memorable. Of the older ones, I loved Red Dwarf and Spaced. And also Drop the Dead Donkey, which no one else has mentioned yet as one of the older classics.

Black Books from that lot.

Customer: You know, I'm probably getting a lot of secondary smoke from you.
Bernard: Don't worry about it. Get me a drink sometime.

garth marenghi's darkplace

I liked this always thought it never got the ratings it should have done

peepshow as mighty boosh is inconsistent and i aint seen black books.
dave

You need to see it, its so good the writing as you can see from the above sample is excellent. I love Bernard, if i was a boy i would be Bernard.

I tried watching that Garth marenghi, I absolutely hated it.

I have downloaded black books, I have seen some but wanted to watch it from the start. So thats what I will be doing tonight :)

id say peep show just, inbetweeners is class, and black books is up there too..

mighty bosh makes me want to hurt myself these days

I had to vote Little Britain because it is the only one I have seen from that list :(

I really need to stay in and watch TV more :o (actually that should be switch off the video game console and watch TV more)
