phoenix nights was excellent actually... forgot about that. his decent sitcoms get rather overshadowed by his risible stand-up...Supprised no mention of Phoenix Nights by anyone else.
For me , Early Doors , it was as good as early Royle Family . Constantly funny , intelligently written , anyone who has spent time in a similar pub will identify with the characters , all very believable . The two policemen just had to walk in and it would make me smile.
