When we got married we asked for money (but that's a whole other can of worms, I know) Some people though decided to buy us random presents, which was lovely. We got (amongst other things)
A rose bush
Some really special wine
Some lovely hand painted wine glasses
£40 of vouchers for the local cheese shop
A cherry tree
A Dr Seuss book
and my absolute favourite, a fragment of meteorite from Mars!

Oh and a few big Yucca plants - bigger the better!

We did also get quite a lot of John Lewis vouchers - some people asked our parents what sort of vouchers we might like, if any, so we specified JL ones, which was great, as they paid for our washing machine and some other bits.
