What would be your ideal Mother's Day present?

:D

We had a really good laugh. Decent lunch, loads of beer and then came home and watched Man U getting beat by Fulham.

I got a mug with my name on it, an oven glove that says 'Best Mum' (:() and TWO swizzle lollies.

I'm really happy with the swizzle lollies. :D

Oh and my FIL has just been round with a card, flowers and chocolates for me. Bless. :)

I'm having such a lovely time so far I didn't want to rub it in :o

Apart from the 10yr old beng in my bed frm 4am and not being able to find my earplugs, that is. I was 'woken' at 9am with a nice cup of earl grey by the 10 yr old and then I got presents* and cards and now we're off to the car boot sale.

*I got a beautiful painting done by the 10 yr old - on the back of the canvas he's written out all the lyrics to 'Simply the Best' with bits in brackets for what bit is the guitar :D I got some posh bubble bath and a Ped Egg from the 13yr old and a gorgeous paleopsis orchid from mr madz. My eldest is being delivered later. My mum will probably have bought him a card and a bottle of win to give to me as he's been awake for two days partying and sounded pretty fucked last night on the phone. However, as it's his 21st tomorrow he's forgiven ;)

I could take a stand and dismiss the idea of Mothering Sunday as so much church led bourgeoisie arse, and discuss how I never asked to be shat from a cunt and how I do a million and one little things on a regular basis.

My mum never wanted anything for Mothers Day....she always said that International Womens Day was the one worth celebrating.

My daughter and son both made cards at nursery/school.

My sons card says...'Dear mum, I love you more than ducks(!) and cake and Star Wars and LEGO. From your son, Fred.' :D

Next to the LEGO bit he's actually done the little 'TM' thing too, the sad bastard. :(

Ex is taking us all for a lovely Sunday lunch at a pub overlooking the sea at Telscombe Cliffs and then we'll have a walk on the beach after and that'll do me just fine!

Sam - do the Colombia Rd thing, defo!

I'm getting exactly what I asked for....nothing...unless you count downloading songs onto my ipod as a pressie :)

A lovely personal gift, softy

Ta hon.

Did minime make something at school? I remember school-made cards and gifts ever so fondly...I still have some of them....awwwww :)

softyyoungman asked me outright what I wanted and I was adamant I wanted nothing...'well... how about tunes on your ipod then?'...I beamed... Oh yes pls!

Bless him :D

No....they don't seem to do it in schools these days. Not here anyway. Shame.....I remember them too. She has made a card n gift for me with Brownies though so I still get cute handmade things. Thank gawd for Brownies and their painted plant pots n shit :D

I have never thought of getting my mother a present for Mother's Day. I sent her flowers and a card as usual. I rang her up earlier today to check that she got them and she had. Thinking of a present would be a nightmare - especially as it would have to be something that could be posted. I have enough trouble at Christmas and her birthday - which is very close to Christmas. Flowers don't last admittedly but it is Spring and flowers seem to be appropriate. I ordered scented ones as her eyesight is not very good.
