What will the viewing figures be for the Oval test?

Most people I know follow it on the radio, not TV and always have done.

Yeah, I'm a TMS addict but to be fair, I'm not sure it's tone and style really works for everyone and if you don't fully understand cricket already then it can be a bit daunting. C4 were very good for that, having little mini features on what the language meant and such.

I forgot that they used to cut to the racing, i can understand why that might get on ecb's nerves though. Imo if BBC got the cricket and could afford it all, that would be the best option. Atleast they wouldn't cut to stupid racing.

I can see why that'd cheese off the ECB but at least C4 did keep up ball by ball coverage on Film 4 which was unencrypted especially so all digital viewers could watch, these days as Channel 4 have at least 6 channels on all digital platforms scheduling it so the majority of viewers can see all the play would be easy to do.

Sky do change the channel the cricket is on themselves when any form of football coverage is due on as shown with their Pro40 coverage, and they've missed several overs of World Cup cricket matches before whilst moving the coverage from Sky Sports 1 to 2 because Gillette Soccer Special must start at 7pm even though it's on Sky Sports News anyway, and it would of course be far too much effort for them to synchronise their ad breaks so no coverage is missed

What probably did justifiably wind up the ECB was on a few occasions C4 did end the coverage at 6pm with a couple of overs left to be bowled and no additional coverage on digital in favour of Friends repeats, this stopped when the start of play was moved to 10.30 but moving the start of play back to the more normal 11am as Sky promised and have done must have played well with the old farts on the county boards. Or it certainly made them feel more comfortable in accepting the Digger's dirty money anyway

Is it not on C5 anymore? Used to be on Sunday nights and Wednesday nights. Havn't watched a game for ages tbh. Would love to see one live though.

Five stopped covering the baseball at the end of the last season as they couldn't afford it, there's still pretty much a game on every night on ESPN and/or ESPN America but nothing on free to air.
