What were the first 7' single and first album you bought?

First 7 inch was The Jackson's - Show You The Way To Go.
First album The Police - Outlandos D'amour.

These weren't my first ever records but they were the first i bought with my own money as a kid :)

first single "oh What a Circus" - David Essex (really wish it was something cool but 5p in Woolworths is pretty persuasive at that age)

First LP "Parallel Lines" - Blondie (£3.25 I recall - for my 8th or 9th Birthday)

Hahaha. I think just after i bought Amigo by Black Slate(which i still love), i bought Tom Hark by The Piranas, which i hate

First record (a present from my uncle)

My first album was by Gary Numan "Pleasure Principle" - although it was very nearly Abba :o

The first single I bought was "Union city blue" by blondie

My second album was "I Just Can't Stop It" by the Beat

Oooh The pleasure principle was probably the fourth album i bought, i loved it. The Beat's "I Just Can't Stop It" was another early one i bought...i even purchased it again on cd cos' i loved it so much :)

I still listen to it now and have seen them a few times over the last couple of years - still great nearly 30 years on :cool:

Okay, I have had a good hard thunk, and it's either Status Quo - Dog of Two Head, or Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Can't for the life of me remember which though
