what was the last punk rock classic you heard?

not technically punk but I've just listened to the '87 Miners Benefit EP half of Wake Up Fanzine presents Billy Bragg and Friends cd.
Fell in love with Billy Bragg, The Neurotics, and Attila The Stockbroker's cover of Garageland when I first heard it on a clash tribute/covers cd on the cover of Uncut (back in 03 - 5/6 years ago - fuck me)

Billy doing A Change Is Gonna Come as an anti-apartheid statement, and Kevin Seisay's All Smiles are pretty powerful.
Instant reaction to Attila The Stockbroker's 40 Years was "fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck" at how relevant the lyrics are now.

IMO those last two songs are classics.

his version is great I think - I like the bilingual intro too.

It was re-pressed on orange cos it was a collectors item. Which kinda fuct it up.

cool! Mine's on black vinyl? does THAT mean it's a rare one?

(always wanted it on orange though so this kinda makes me feel better - 30 years on or whatever)

pray tell!

You is right about Runnin Riot, fantastic, and of course available from a certain poster on here for a mere six pounds sterling

It was at a festie in Staffordshire and we were watching a band, my mate wanted to stay and watch MTCH, i said no they are shite.

The chap stood in front of me turned round and i swear i thought he was going to chin me, he just give me a dirty look and turned back round.

2 minutes later my mate started again, bearing in mind the chap in fronts response earlier, i went into overdrive about how shit they were.

So he turns round again, i shrugged my shoulders and said but they are shite, he gets huffy and turns round again.

My mate started again for a 3rd time ten minutes later and before i could say anything the chap in front gave me a 'i'm gonna fuckin kill you' look and stormed off.

Anyway, we stayed and made our way to the front. The band came on and there he was stage front!

I upset Michael Stipe once too

yea, warhead came on a kind of crappy light brown vinyl didnt it? i always thought that a bit strange as i'd have thought they'd have gone for a khaki green? maybe some dolt at the pressing plant was thinging desert camo

Charlie Harper called it "baby-shit brown". :)

Drowning Pool - Let the Bodies Hit the Floor :)

forgive my ignorance if this isn't punk but to an aging b-boy it sounds punk(ish)

I had Last Resort, Skinhead Anthems on red vinyl when i was a kid.
Were they all on red?

Last punk tune i heard.Propaganda by Vice Squad, this morning.

I saw Vice Squad (along with Drongo's for Europe) supporting The Dead Kennedys in Moseley, B'ham in '81. Didn't bother with school the next day, dreams of Beki Bondage kept me up all night;)

Just hear a cover of Germ Free Adolescence by Neneh Cherry which is pretty good.
