What to serve with ratatouille?

So ratatouille is meant to go in the oven? Maybe that explains why the saucepan version I've just made tastes of precisely fuck all.

I always do mine on the hob. A long slow simmer and plenty of seasoning/herbs makes it thick and delicious.

Last night I added a load of green beans to it too, result.

Cooking on the hob shouldn't detract from the flavour, as long as you use plenty of garlic, herbs and olive oil.

The oven recipe above is pretty foolproof though.
