What sort of music do your neighbours like?

my neighbours relentless application of high volume hard house has led to me borrowing their Tidy Boys CD.

still not listened to it yet

They don't seem to like anything.

I played Kanye, they complained,

80's cheesy pop, they complained,

Techno, they complained,

bagpipes for the 1st 24 hours of 2009, they complained,

invited a samba band back that one time, they complained,

No fucking pleasing some people.

Next door are in their 50's/ 60's so it was a bit of a mystery when they started on the boy band power ballads (was it their daughter???)

They're usually pretty quiet and God knows what they hear from us. I think she likes Cliff Richard, does Brenda.

Next door used to argue in foreign, I could hear that. And upstairs used to have sex for 5 hours at weekends but I think they moved and now the new upstairs occasionally have mates over and stomp about and cackle and have a fine old time but don't play music.

I've had Aliens soundtrack on 11 all afternoon and noones complained

I never hear anything at all from my neighbours - I'm really lucky - in all the years I've lived here it's been mainly silent - I feel guilty playing my music so tend to keep it down :)

Hope I aint jinxing myself - *touches wood*..

Weird innit? I don't even hear anyone's telly...am I *really* the only one making noise or are the walls nice and thick so we are all insulated from each other and noone is offending anyone? I would really prefer not to be a Noisy Neighbour but I do like my subwoofer sometimes :D

My flat is really craply insulated - just the neighbours never seem to be around much - when they are I hear them stomping around but music / tv is very minimal - I have people both sides of me and above - they're all the same - it's so quiet here - I love it :)

i haven't heard anything from the neighbours apart from the odd piano/singing lesson since i moved back into the "family" house. their eldest son used to have boyband ambitions but seems to have given them up since he's nearly 30, i'd just about excuse his harmonising 'cos he did like a bit of laurent garnier. the other side moved in since i got back and seem to be pretty scared of me, could be the late night practice/anger management.

i am fucking lucky because if you don't like fierce bass heavy dance music i'm a terror to live next to. :D

I've never heard any music from my current neighbours. Which is a distinct improvement on the previous lot's Daniel O'Donnell collection.

Nearly 8 years and not a single complaint, which is quite a surprise given the amount of loud reggae and jungle I play.

The semi-recovered loonspud in the flat above my living room plays rock, 80's synth pop and house while he drinks himself into oblivion during the evenings. The geezer with the staffies above my bedroom starts playing grime about 11pm and continues until 7am most nights during the week. Between us we play very loud music much of the time so it's a kind of truce that we let each other without complaint. The others neighbours must be just scared.

On a Sunday one neighbour inflicts her incredibly out of tune gospel singing on everyone. There used to be one who had a special "love" tape he'd put on Sunday mornings - Luther vandross, Barry White etc. Usually within a couple of songs the estate would hear sounds of passionate lovemaking and lots of windows would suddenly close.

My current neighbours don't seem to listen to much music.... but the guy who lived in the flat above me in my previous place was a fucking nightmare. He was an aggressive alcoholic with serious mental health issues and seemed to own only one tune - Stay - by East 17. He would come home pissed in the middle of the night and blast it regularly. Once he even put his speakers on the window sill - opened the windows wide - cranked it up and went down into the street to dance with his top off.

This was of course fucking annoying at 3 o clock in the morning on a Wednesday but on this occasion my heart did go out to him a little. He was in such a state - tears were streaming down his face - it was very tragic.

The police arrived a few minutes later to cart him off (again).

R n B and gangster rap. My next door neighbours seem to change frequently but they all like r n b and gangster rap

Next door on one side play crying children. THe other side play DIY.
A couple of flights down a young lad (student fairly trendy) went through a phase of playing "I was a highwayman" by that Highwaymen supergroup repeatedly. Very odd.

We play the coolest music in our block.

Our upstairs upstairs neighbours like weird ass French stuff like Camille. Haven't heard anyone else's in our house/block, altho they're all being treated to a fine selection of house, D&B, dubstep, techno and classical music by my good self :D

Neighbours on both sides play Frank Sinatra, Vic Damone, Julie London and Tony Bennett. The 78 year old lady next door is a Sinatra fanatic and called me up in the middle of that Robbie Williams Sinatra karaoke thing they showed on telly to complain that he was "a talentless whippersnapper" and "not fit to lick Frank's boots!" :)

i live next door to a nursery. I could happily go through life without ever hearing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star ever again, but i suspect they don't appreciate me playing This Is Hardcore by Pulp full blast with the windows open when people are picking their kids up. ;)

Downstairs listens to grumpy sounding Islamic clerics rambling on about god know's what, stupidly loud and for a while this was at five in the morning, well its more a less stopped since I started playing dancehall and bashment full blast whenever he did it:D (my gf said this was passive aggressive, I don't really care it worked)

They don't. I have never ever heard any music coming from their house

I hear the odd shag - well, I think it's a shag, it might just be her crying.

All they do is DIfuckinY

Next door likes crap house music. They've learned not to push their luck playing it too loud though, in our house we've got two bass guitars, five normal guitars, several large amps and a drumkit :)

And we can play really badly if we want to.

next door likes mix of hip hop, reggae and ragga

next door but one likes african tunes or radio 1

upstairs likes shit non descript music

and two floors down likes south american fiesta :D

The only time I hear from my neighbour is when he's in his shower, which is next to my front room. Every evening I'm treated to him screaming along to max volume Michael Jackson, Phil Colins or shite RnB for about 10 minutes.

His favourite seems to be Easy Lover, which he'll hammer along to on the wall, as he skwarks out: SHE'S AN EAAAAASSSSSY LOOOOOOVERRRR!!!! That's always a highlight of my day :D

THis is my next door neighbour too! On the other side I don't think they like music - in fact sometimes I wonder if they even live there as I hear absolutely nothing from them.

Never really heard anything from next door apart from dogs barking, but the lads next door but one have a thing about listening to Backstreet Boys, N Sync, and shit house before they got out on the piss. Weirdos.
