What Song Would You Like Played At Your Funeral?

I 'eard a nice story, tho it's wedding, not funeral related... y'know Robin Hood, Prince of thieves (or 'Ponce in Trees,' as I like to call it)?

anyway, this woman goes to the local vicar, and he sez, 'what music would you like played at yr wedding?'

and she sez, 'oh y'know, that lovely song from Robin Hood'

'Righto' sez the vicar...

come the Wedding day, the assembled guests and groom wait expectantly, and then the bride walks down the aisle, accompanied by- yes, you guessed it- 'Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen...!'

made me chuckle anyway :D

Well, I posted this thread myself once and I later posted on someone else's thread of the same theme. Both times I said Shot in the dark. er so shot in the dark

I change my mind about this more often than I change my knickers so I can't say. It will have to make people cry whilst laughing out loud though :D This minutes choice is Mary Schnider yodelling the William Tell Overture. (excuse spelling as I'm pissed)

I'm Dying Tomorrow by Alkaline Trio.

Sample lyric: 'Did I remember to keep your beer as full as mine / Did I remember to say 'cheers'? / Did I remember to make sure everybody had a good time? / We had the best time

I'd have that and Your Hand in Mine by Explosions in the Sky.

Went to my mate's father's funeral the other week, and as the crematorium curtains closed, Eric Idle started singing 'Alway's Look on the Bright Side of Life'.

Made most of the people chuckle and tap their feet. :D:cool:

Pursuance and Psalm from John Coltrane's A Love Supreme.

People who loved me will dig it as the 18 minutes of genius it is. Plus it's guaranteed to royally offend and piss off all those who only showed up because they felt they had to.

:D

I have left strict instructions with my wife (that I update every couple of months) but I bet she will forget. I'm going to have to start writing it down and making notes for her as the where the CDs are.

Ahhhh, I bet it's like my wedding all over again.

'I wanna be like you' from the Jungle Book.
Lyrics like 'i wanna walk like you, talk like you' at the start to indicate my annoyance at my demise followed by 'what i desire is mans red fire, to make my dream come true' to express my acceptance of the situation as i slide into the flames.
Plus it has that irresistable groove that creeps up on you..the mourners would go from sobbing in their hankies,to toe tapping, to a full blown jungle jive in the aisles by the end. Maybe.
