What song is stuck in your head today?

Amphetamine Blue - The Vibrators. Its driving me mental - altho not quite as mental as the tiime I had the Gummi Bears theme tune  stuck in my head for days on end.

Shy FX and Topcat - Everyday, been whistling the horns round the office all day. I've had two older employees ask me what I'm whistling, both enquiries led on to an explanation of what jungle is, so at least I've achieved something today.

aahhahhahahah!!!

"Doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me"

All because i was watching live feed of Big Bro and jodie tart had a hoodie on with the lyrics emblazoned.......

Apparently there are specific songs that you should listen to, to erase certain repetitive songs that plague the mind, i think one is the lords prayer... i could be wrong though...

There's a Will Young version?!

Dear god.

You know who could do a good cover of that - Hard-Fi. Seriously. Think about it. Could be wicked.

Leonard Cohen...

....And now you look around you,
See her everywhere,
Many use her body,
Many comb her hair.
In the hollow of the night
When you are cold and numb
You hear her talking freely then,
She's happy that you've come,
She's happy that you've come

Yes, that would be rather novel. :)

A Mogwai version would be awesome too. And somehow I could quite imagine GYBE putting their own unique slant on it...

You know what? That could just might work. Although I dont know how you could get them to do it.

*imagines Mogwai Stuart singing "Don't you wish that she was a freak like me?"*

Heh.

Today I mostly have The Faders 'No Sleep Tonight' stuck in my head.

It is most upsetting but a song that I never hear but yet which enters my brain at least twice a week is Don't Go Breaking My Heart..particularly this line.

"Ooooh ooooh, nobody knows it, nobody kno-ows"

The best things is, whenever I sing it out loud someone is guaranteed to join in.

 :o

Steve Miller Band's 'The Joker'.

I overheard someone say 'Maurice' on the way to work and I smirked to myself remembering the line in the song, "Some people call me Maurice" with that big wolf whistle... now I can't shake it. Could be worse though. :)

Now I've got Angie Reed and Gonzales in my head singing "I'm in a jungle of gigolos, oh no" on a constant loop...

Cotton Eye Joe.

The Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys version, not the Rednex version.

Opps. I spoke too soon. My mind has swapped versions.

The Barenaked Ladies - King of Bedside Manor

But I don't know all the lyrics but something like:

He's subtle on the dance floor and he's suave around the bar, he's quick draw with the lighter, he's a sort of movie star. You know he was quite a singer, quite an actor, quite some time ago.

............He's not the king of Bedside Manor.
He hardly even lives there anymore.

........Well he opens up the curtains at the crack of dawn jJust to see the lovely ladies who have come and gone from the house next door.

It is fucking do my head in.

A friend of mine assured me that if this happens, you should just sing the Pink Panther theme and it'll clear any songs that you've got stuck in your head.

Of course I wound up humming the fucking Pink Panther theme for the rest of the day.
