what should a fetus listen to?

My mum took me to lots of Proms when I was in the womb... and I turned out quite musical! :D
-but you had two pianos and a harp in your living room! :)
surely that must've played a role aswell, not just the womb-thing? :p

poor Chubbie (aka Baby Hamster) had to put up with me learning to play the piano accordion! :o
Apparently I'd start kicking my mother the minute she started practicing playing the piano when she was pregnant with me.... :o

I'm not sure if that was a compliment (i.e. dancing) or a "shut the fuck up"!

I am intending to let my baby (when i get one) listen to all the greats, bros, wham, petshop boys, the smiths etc.

To be honest i dont think it makes much difference to the baby about what they listen too. i saw that Dr Winston programme where the babies responded to the same song that had been played to them in the womb and they responded by wriggling and waving their arms it was mega cute :D

:D

I used to pipe Bob Marleys Babylon by bus through the big headphones and pop'em on partners tum for my first. She still loves Bob at 6.

With 11 wks to go the new boy has been getting a bit of Desire by Dylan and more Bob Marley. He kicks a bit to Punky Reggae party :D

Our midwife swears it makes them calmer babies when they arrive. ;)
Must admit that when my daughter arrived she used to smile on hearing bob and it always helped settle her when she was distressed about anything especially when the tothy pegs came. ;)

I know someone who played coldplay to their unborn child when they were pregnant and it was born nearly two weeks late.
I assume either because it was waiting for it to stop or had gone into some sort of coma ;)

I was listening to lots of ragga/dancehall stuff, when I was pregnant with my last baby, and I must say, he has the most excellent sense of rhythm, and can melt hearts with his dancing.

A good example of why a 'mentor' is needed me thinks ;)

Not really...... so susshhhh......... :D

Ment away then........ who should I have been subjecting the bubba to. I did take bubba when in my belly to Glasters remember?

Drum & Bass and modal jazz/postbop. Stimulates cognitive function. The best thing by miles if you're after a smart sprog.

<Dons mentor cap> I suggest a broad variety of musical styles, kids tend to like upbeat even quirky music ,unless it's bedtime when coldplay will probably have the desired effect. My folks had an 8 track cartridge thingy when I was bubba's age and my faves (they only had about 6 cartidges) were James Brown and Roberto Delgado (don't ask). + :o
