What produce is worth going to Lidl for?

Orang Utan said:
So, it's just olives, olive oil, parmesan, tinned toms and cooked meats so far
Biscuits? I never buy things like that

is it bollocks

are you particularly fussy or skint?
Just buy the things you run out of as and when seeing as you live yards away if you want to try the place out.

sign up for their email-what's coming next week thinghttp://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.service.nl.sub.index

now, gerronwi'it and stop bothering us

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I have to say I wasn't overly impressed. Veg not that much cheaper than elsewhere and looked a bit ropey. Too many superfluous appetite-spoiling snacks too, though I was tempted by one packet of peanuts. Oil, olives, parmesan, salami, antipasti, cat litter, bog roll and kitchen roll all dead cheap though, so definitely coming back for that sort of thing.

Maybe furry, not skint. But half the store is devoted to biscuits and crap like that. Not that biscuits are crap, just not healthy.

Avoid the clingfilm though, it doesn't. it's the worst kitchen product ever

the name brand toiletries are bargainous when they're on offer too, which is quite often to be fair. Gonna stock up on Dove body wash when it's bogof next week :)

is it lidl or aldi that sells DISCO BISCUITS? whichever it is, it's worth going there just to point and laugh at them. see also: madonna biscuits, wacko biscuits, and snacky cracky mini garlic pretzels (which are actually quite nice, i haven't tried disco biscuits, madonnas or wackos).

Must be Aldi otherwise I'd have bought some.

they're from aldi. i love the design of the pack- never fails to make me smile. they look fucking rank though. full of e numbers.

i went to lidl yesterday - i get the prawns in brine, the tinned tomatoes and sweetcorn and the mozarella and the pesto.

There potato salad and coleslaw (especially the cheese one) are the best ive tasted shop bought.

I bought a seafood pizza from there a couple of months ago and the toppings were at lot more generous than most and it ws totally gorgeous!

I bought a pack of them once - they were really horrible:(.

Could'nt get into my local Lidls this morning, I wanted that pancake mix in a bottle that they do, got there and there was all police do not cross tape across the entrance and a member of staff standing guard next to it, (this was the Lidl in Deptford) the man by the tape could'nt tell me when they were going to start letting people in again- so I had to go all the way to the next nearest one in Peckham.

Only problem with Lidl is the check-out queues are ferocious. I can do a ten minute whizz round then spend 20plus minutes at the till.
