I always saw the practice of having pop stars on my bedroom wall as a statement of intent - as in nailing my musical colours to the mast - rather than a masturbation aid.

"black light " posters were popular in north america in the 70's.they werent cheap at all,compared to normal rock/pop music posters so i think thats why i never had any,would rather spend my allowence on records i guess! they were always very brightly coloured/garish and often associated with "stoners" hahaha so doubt my mum would have bought me one.you had to buy a purple coloured light(called a black light) in order for them to "glow"..i dont even know if this glowing thing worked even if it didnt they were super super bright w/o the special light.they were often printed on this imitation black velevet stuff as well..
