best team won .

Viduka missed what should have been an easy goal at 1-0 and Boro should have had a penalty just before the second goal but apart from those 2 moments Boro deserved to lose it !

Hard luck Middlesbrough. Never really got going, but 4-0 was a bit harsh.

How small was their no 3, David? In fact the whole team looked 4 or 5 inches shorter man for man.

And who was the lachrymose Sevilliano they kept cutting to in the crowd?

Tottenham can do that next season

(as long as lasagne is not eaten before games )
I think that's going to become a spurs tradition. No lasagne before a game :D Or no food prepared in restaurantes ever again. Only food hand cooked by Martin Jol will ever be eaten again at camp yiddo.

I'm making no comment on next seasons uefa games.

Back luck to Has-Beens United (incorporating Gravy Train FC). Sorry, I mean Middlesborough. :p
I wouldn't quite say that reaching the UEFA final marks the team out as 'has beens' myself.

They were totally crushed by the better team. They had little in the way of a response and that was their last competitive match this season.

Fantastic news for England. Wonder if he will be asking Owen to drop bombs into the opponents goal when it all starts to go wrong.

Since the top European nations have been sending their best three or four sides to the Champions League, the UEFA Cup has lost a lot of quality. The fact that a very average Premiership side could get to the final doesn't really do the competition many favours. They showed a lot of grit and tenacity to get there, and well done to them, but... well, I'm just not a fan of that club.

If Viduka had scored it would probly have been a different story, as Boro were on top at that point, and were the better side in 2nd half until Sevilla got their 2nd. After that, Boro were deflated and ragged - they knew they were shot. Sevilla deserved it but 4-0 flattered them.

How did the ref miss that certain peno? Odd that. Would've been interesting to see (if the pen had been tucked away) if Seville would've crumpled the way Basle and Bucharest did. Anyhoo, the better side won and I don't think I could've beared watch that Seville fan's face if they'd lost it, he was bad enough when they were two nil up ffs.

there's no way that fan was enjoying that game, from the first goal he was in tears. Everyone else jumping around him, singing etc.. there's him balling his fucking eyes out. Fuckin pointless, bet he missed half the game texting his associates

Well that's the Riverside Retirement home for overpaid over-aged "Carlos Kickaball" footballers shown to be the mediocre side they are.

But think on the bright side McLearn is going to be the new England manager (good grief)..

The Spanish commentator had a hell of a time with "Barmby". He had to put another short syllable in, saying "Barmaby".

The Prince of Andalucia (i.e. the King's son) was being interviewed on the pitch after the game. I still can't follow spoken Spanish so I don't know if the commentator asked him "if you claim to be interested in football, can you name the goalscorers from tonight?"

they asked the prince if he had enjoyed the game, and said some shcmuck about how it's the first time the prince ahd been on the pitch after the game to have the photo taken. he said he was very pleased and that it was a great honour for spain, while trying not to look pised off that the players had run off with the trophy he was supposed to be having his photo taken with.

certain penalty, but i think sevilla would have won anyway. distinct lack of traffic light cheering last night though.

Very obvious penalty...but the better team won. Boro was so dull it was unture.

Saviola showed why Barca didn't want him with another fairly tepid diplay. Palop's save was superb and the the defence looked good.
